I think the next movie will definitely have a heavier focus on the villains. The first chapter introduces the characters, the second one develops them.

Also, after seeing TFA for a fourth time tonight and seeing the lightsaber battle between Kylo and Rey, I think what would be nice and more tense to see in VIII would be another duel but in a more confined area.

I would like to see the complete and utter destruction of the forest moon of Endor right at the beginning of the movie so that there's absolutely no way the Ewoks can ever return, ever!

 

1. Rey's parents/background revealed.
2. Knights of Ren doing things.
3. Leia and Luke reunion.
4. Poe, Finn and Rey doing things, together.
5. More R2-D2, Captain Phasma.
6. No CGI Snoke.
7. Actually naming planets on-screen.
8. More original planet topographies, or if you're going to reuse something, just bring back Tatooine/Naboo/Coruscant/whatever instead of creating something identical.

MORE Luke screen time? In order to have more you have to have something in the first place and thirty seconds at the end of a 2hour and 15 minute movie hardly counts as screen time! That downed Star Destroyer on Jakku at the beginning had more screen time AND was more interesting! I'm pretty sure EP8 will see Luke, R2D2 and even C3PO all have pretty significant roles!

 

Imagine A Hologram Snoke fighting Kylo Ren as a part of his training ? That could be a part of the "new" that was teased for Rian Johnson .

 

#1 The KNIGHTS OF REN as Sith Assassins trained by SNOKE who is an ancient SITH LORD
#2 FIRST ORDER and PHASMA captures FINN, and draws REY out of training
#3 Fully trained SITH LORD KYLO REN abducts REY, laying a trap drawing LUKE out of hiding ala ESB
#4 More POE DAMERON

 

- More story, less action.
- Much more Luke (showing cool Jedi powers, and reuniting with Leia)
- Some answers to TFA open questions. Backstories, for instance.
- Some nice mission involving Poe and Finn for the Resistance, or Phasma for the FO, or both.
- An original, unforseeable plot twist (No Rey being Luke's daugther, nor Luke sacrificing ala Obi-Wan, nor no one being no one's mother/father). Maybe an unexpected death, or Snoke being a familiar figure (not Plagueis).

 

I do agree with you on the lightsaber battle being on a completely different place. The one thing I want is that the battle itself will be around 5 minutes (like Luke vs Darth Vader in ESB). Kylo vs Finn was incredible, but it wasn't even 2 minutes long! And while Kylo vs Rey was just as good, she was mostly running from him and defending herself. So yeah, a different place, longer and more agressive fight.

My dream would be to have Kylo training on Moraband, and 2 lightsabers battles in VIII: Kylo vs Rey (with him winning this time), and Kylo vs a dark side apprentice from Snoke, for him to complete his training as maybe a Sith. My favorite fights from the Clone Wars tv show were Savage vs Asaji vs Dooku and Savage and Darth Maul vs Darth Sidious. Bad guys fighting eachother is incredible, and seeing that on a movie would be amazing.

 

In no particular order

1) Lando as the head of "whatever remains of the new republic fleet".
2) confirmation of rey's parents
3) a training montage that cuts between Rey/Luke and Snoke/Kylo
4) new and more ships
5) a few recurring alien species, but not recurring old alien characters
6) a decent bad guy pilot, to challenge Poe

After all the Build up 9f how powerful Anakin was supposed to be and never really showing it in the movies, Id like to see Luke do something so powerful that no other Force user could likely do, something surprising that make audience gasp and feel astonishment
