It's sad that we witnessed the death of the iconic Han Solo being killed by his own dark side fueled son Ben Solo (or Organa-Solo) while Han was trying to bring him back to the light side of the Force. I mean it was kind of expected, Han always is first to go into danger, from the moment Luke and Leia meet Han to the moment of his death he has always led the fight into danger, from leading the rebel strike on the shield generator on Endor in Episode VI, to smuggling Luke and Obi-Wan to Alderaan to give a message to Leia's adoptive father Bail Organa, to then rescuing Leia on the Death Star to then being frozen in Carbonite in Cloud City on Bespin in Episode V, to him then finally able to be with Leia when he finds out Luke is really her twin brother and not her boyfriend/lover. Han has been connected to the Skywalker family for the last 34 years of his life, he went from outright bashing the Jedi and the Force to coming to accept it after everything he's witnessed to marrying a Skywalker and having a Skywalker child and even helped his brother in law Luke Skywalker rebuild the Jedi Order by sending his son to be trained in the ways of the Jedi by Luke.

I'm surprised Han kept his personality after all these years, watching his son turn evil and kill who knows how many people and forced his uncle into exile (for what I think is around 15 years). Then confronting his son to try and reason with him to return to the light and reunite with him and Leia. That moment Ben stabbed his father through the chest the look on Han's face tells it all, he could not believe his son would actually kill/harm his own father and then touching his sons face as if in a way to "why?" and then falling to his death.

Now we are just left with the Skywalker twins, and I have a feeling Luke is going to be next of the Big 3 to die, probably while fighting Snoke or Kylo (Ben) to protect Rey from being corrupted by the Dark Side and I do honestly believe Rey is Luke's daughter and thus the cousin to Kylo Ren (Ben Solo or Ben Organa-Solo).

Leia seems distraught as all hell. She just lost her husband/former husband by her sons hands, she still hs to lead the Resistance who has in a way been severely crippled due to the great destruction of the New Republic capital and Senate and fleet, her brother is still not with the Resistance/Republic and she needs him now more than ever before.

Luke seems quite messed up himself, he clearly showed that when he saw Rey and his father's lightsaber again. He blames himself for his nephew's fall to the dark side, the slaughter of his Jedi Academy, he feels like he failed Yoda and Obi-Wan and himself. Why did he search for the First Jedi Temple? Is there some secret in there that could save Ben? Or find a way to defeat Snoke and the dark side once and for all? Has he been communing with Yoda, Obi-Wan and Anakin on the planet while he was in exile?

I really do believe we need Anakin to come back and try to comfort Leia and Luke in what appears to be the darkest chapter in their life right now. Leia may want her father more than ever, she is force sensitive so she could see his force ghost if Anakin wanted to reveal himself to her. I'm sure by now that Leia has learned about the good part of his life and not the Vader part. Luke may benefit from having Anakin giving him knowledge on how to fight the influence of the dark side since he has been light and dark, and he can still benefit from the old teachings of Yoda and Obi-Wan.

I feel like we have to get a reunion of Luke and Leia in Episode VIII and they will discuss what happened in TFA and how to combat the growing influence of Snoke over the galaxy and it probably will be revealed here that Rey is Luke's daughter if not mentioned on Skellig Michael and that Luke reluctantly agreed to train Rey in the ways of the Jedi to help in the coming fight with Snoke and the FO. Leia will discuss tactics on how to fight their military while Luke will find a way to fight Snoke and Kylo Ren. In the reunion between Luke and Leia this would be a perfect time for Anakin's force ghost to come in and commune with them and tell them how they can possibly save Ben from Snoke and the Dark Side.

What do you guys think will be the fate of Luke and Leia going forward?

EDIT: Also TFA made the ending scene of ROTJ have a WHOLE new meaning now...

I do not believe Luke will be killed.... episode 9 has to end in a much better shape then ROTJ.
The whole starwars has to do with the balance of the force prophecy. The story as a whole has to make some sense and balance and peace in some way has to be reached. I believe TFA is the darkest one of the new trilogy....

I have no idea of what's gonna happen next but I'm really looking forward to a reunion of the Skywalker twins. I think in addition to blaming himself for his nephew's fall to the dark side, the slaughter of his Jedi Academy, and failing Yoda and Obi-Wan, it must also be hard for him to face his sister knowing she trusted him with her son. I just hope neither of them die, but most of all that neither of them die before they can see each other again. I'd like to see Leia reassure her brother that it was not his fault and for Luke to promise they will make this right.
