    Down time. The real Boyega. The dude we see as Finn is made up for a role. C'mon people.
    1. He beat out thousands of actors for the role of Finn (as we think we know him to be).
    2. He's not afraid to be himself despite of ignorant internet commentary.
    3. Hood? Why? Your on a star wars website. Star wars deals with the intertwining of different cultures on different planets. Don't allow yourself to be tainted with labels. Star wars teaches the inhabitants of this planet to transcend that barrier, if you allow it to.

    Oh, I am perfectly fine with John Boyega and whatever stylistic choices he makes for himself. I just feel like this hairstyle wouldn't work for Finn and would be distracting if used in the movie.
    As for "the hood", well, there was a brief period when me and my teenage friends had a lot of fun with GTA:San Andreas and the movie "Don't be a Menace". So, mentioning stuff like "hood" and "ganstas" brings back some happy memories. That's it, nothing offensive. So, if there is anything wrong - just delete my message. I actually tried, but failed.

    Delete it for what? Perhaps I took it the wrong way or had a 2014 TFA teaser trailer "fan" commentary/backlash flashback. If I'm wrong then it's all good.

    There was an actual backlash over that? Seriously? :confused: I was going to write a serious response about me not caring about casting choices, but this is somehow so rediculous that I don't feel like I have to. I mean, really - it was just a black guy in a storm trooper armour nobody new anything about. What backlash? How?

    Yea so there was this huge racist anti black man in stormtrooper armor backlash towards Boyega. It was pretty disgusting and frankly very disappointing. I should have stepped back and taken Luke's advice to "breath, just breath" when I read your post lol. I guess the initial backlash hit me pretty hard. Sometimes I jump on the defensive when I shouldn't. I don't want to inadvertently spread or forward any negativity here. I'm just here to have fun and try and help keep this place sain (though I'm on a Mod break right now). All is well. Please continue in your enjoyment as a member here. :)

    I think (I hope!) he won't have a man bun and instead some other hairstyle that requires longer hair. Only actor who ever pulled off a man bun is Toshiro Mifune.

    Arguably...and I don't know why I'm saying this to prolong this conversation.....but arguably depending on how one interprets the artistic style of the animation, Saw Gerrera may have had cornrows (which go back hundreds of years) in the Clone Wars.
