    Before I post a wager in the cantina, I want to see if there is any interest in setting an under/over credit wager or game on the phrase "practical effects" between the latest comic-con panel comments and the movie release. Second, what would be the best way to play the game? Keeping track of the number might prove difficult for one person, but maybe the cantina could collectively post the count in a thread. The next issue is determining what counts. Obviously all Star Wars/LFL direct media/press release statements count, and quotes from the cast about the movie in articles or videos. Are there other sources that could count? We might also do an internal SW7N count from the member posts. What does everyone think?

    hmm. that would be difficult....some of the shots will have a combination of both practical and CG. and some of the CG shots might be confused for practical.

    I don't know if you guys have heard, but I heard they were using practical effects on this film. Absolutely no CGI!

    we would not track the actual shots in the movie, just the statements by the company, cast, and media who talk about the film.

    well...at some point they will have to use CGI. for mocap, lasers, enhanced explosions (maybe), lightsabers.

    The count is going to go soooo high so fast that idk how we will be able to keep track! We should have a Star Wars behind the scenes bingo cards with the words "Practical Effects", "Real Sets" and "Original Trilogy" on them. It could be a drinking game! On another note I had to laugh in spite of myself the first time I watched that BTS video and some of the the first words out of Mark Hamill's mouth were "Practical Effects" I cracked up. This is a great idea btw

    I was just joining in the spirit of hearing that phrase for the millionth time.

    As for the over/under, I haven't the slightest idea how to generate a number for it! We will certainly hear it a lot, though.

    depending on how its measured. if we limit it to only LFL and cast/crew official statements the number might be low. It would also be hard to track without everyone's eyes on the media, but the Cantina and Staff track that stuff like hawks
