"That library contains nothing the girl Rey does not already possess."

I may have mentioned this before, but the hilarious size of the fish that Luke speared and how he carried it on his back was so amazingly cartoonish-old-master-showing-off-for-new-student as it gets. I had to laugh, and for some reason....it just fit the script at that moment, lol

Love this. I was actually upset when I thought Yoda destroyed the books and didn't get it. I was like times definitely change/people progress but there is still a place for wisdom of the past! What are you doing!?

    Rey was indeed wise.

And back to these things. I just love it, I don't know why but find it so amusing. I love the story of how the prop had to flown in to the location. It was probably covered, but if it wasn't can you imagine seeing this thing dangling in the air?

    This!
    The movie is awesome, imo.
I use to think that we would never get a sequel trilogy, so I'm more than happy with what we're getting.

The editing of space/throne room/Supremacy interior scene - each intercut ratcheting the tension up and up until the ultimate release:

    Holdo.gif

Everything since the moment Luke appears on Crait to the broom boy & Co. - the legend came, kicked ass and returned into the legend while Rebellion lives on. :)

One of the subtleties I enjoyed was the uniform style of the Canto Bight Police, and the design of their speeder.

    CantoBightPolice.jpg Canto-Bight-Police-Officer_Big_6.jpg

(Can't find a good still of the speeders in action in the movie...)
    CantoBightSpdrToy.jpg

The speeder is kind of like if an X-Wing and a TIE fighter had a baby, eh? I like it. :D

And the uniforms were equal parts lavish and commanding, with some definite callbacks to Imperial garb. Reminded me a lot of the AT-AT commanders from ESB, and those white utility belts were all too stormtrooper-y. They did enough with just these design choices for me to think, "Okay, there's some Imperial / First Order influence here, our heroes can't get mixed up with these people."

Just a couple of my favorites out of all the really cool visuals at CB.

That's definitely a point I liked about it.. I loved how we got a real relationship between an OT and a ST character. I'm guessing Carrie may have helped with this in the script.

Also the inspiration comes from old drawings of Mcquarrie for the OT. I love the visuals of the Canto Bigth Police.

Awesome! I did not know that, thanks! What were they supposed to be, do you know? just random guards?

maybe appreciated by some, but not enough:

    the Lanai!

i could easily have a house full of these things if they were to be had.
Johnson's Dark Crystal influence is definitely seen here.
