I'm midway through Bloodline(no spoilers please), and this image of Laura Dern makes me think she is Lady Carise Sindian

 

They literally named her in the VF article, and she isn't Lady Carise Sindian

not so fast

 

First time a Bothan appears in one of the movies of the saga???
That guy from the cassino looks like one!!!

 

I thought for a second you were talking about Bloodline (the TV show). I watched both seasons and was wondering how I missed a character in it named Lady Carise.

 

I think it's safe to say the costuming department has outdone themselves.

Looks like a splash photo of an athlete in Sports Illustrated.. just breathtaking. Now she looks like she's "trained with a lightsaber."

 

More than just the pictures, there was some really good insights into the movie itself. Like this one about Luke:
Oscar Isaac, at 38 the senior member of the core cast’s “new kids” (Driver is 33, and Ridley and Boyega are in their mid-20s), is old enough to remember as a child revering Luke Skywalker. “So to be there, and to watch Mark revisit Luke, particularly in these scenes we were shooting towards the end of the film, was bizarre and jaw-dropping,” he told me. “It’s like when you see an old band re-unite and go on the road, and they don’t quite hit those high notes anymore—though in this situation it’s completely the opposite. It’s the fulfillment of where your imagination would take you when you imagine where Luke would go, or what he’s become.”

And this one about how Carrie's death really changed the direction of the trilogy:
Fisher completed her part in Episode VIII late last summer, when principal photography on the film wrapped. “She was having a blast,” said Kennedy. “The minute she finished, she grabbed me and said, ‘I’d better be at the forefront of IX!’ Because Harrison was front and center on VII, and Mark is front and center on VIII. She thought IX would be her movie. And it would have been.”

 

All these images look amazing. I may have gripes with TFA, but if there is one thing I'll give props to it and RO it is the production design. And it really looks like the production team stepped up their game big time. So major props to them. If I had to pick a few images, I do love Laura Dern's image as Vice Admiral Boldor. I am a huge fan of Dern as an actor and I was very curious to see who she is. And knowing she is in a position of power, that makes me excited, especially given Leia.

Becuase, I want to see more political elements into this movie as it would not only develop the world, but also flesh out Leia's character. And I think that would be awesome, especially with the sad fact that Carrie Fisher is no longer with us. But on that note, the image with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher is my favorite. Mainly, because to see those two reunited will no doubt be a touching sequence. My only sadness is that Han isn't with them. I'm not the biggest Han Solo fan, but I did love the original trinity.

And overall, it is just a nice picture as the two are siblings in this universe. And speaking of the other images, the Image of those aliens in decorative clothing strikes me as well. I know we are getting a Casino planet which I welcome and I love the weird, out there looks on the aliens. A shame we don't see any familiar aliens. Something TFA also didn't do well. But I am hopeful we'll see more of them as the movie comes out. Overall, this was a great look at the movie and I definitely look forward to it.

P.S: I'll admit it; Rey looks really badass in that one shot. I just hope there is more to her in TLJ, but you don't hire Rian Johnson and not take advantage of his ability to write some amazing characters. Brick and Looper, being stunning examples.

 

This was my original gut feeling towards the Trilogy as each of the Original Big 3 would get 'their' movie. It's such a shame Fisher did not make it to Episode 9 because she is the real hero of The Original Star Wars as she was the one who got the plans to R2 and set the whole story in motion. In a way it would have made the Saga come full circle.

 

Why 2 paralel threads exist about Vanity fair pics?

Unfortunately we have now duplicated threads, next to this is one is same, older, bigger thread with absoluetlely superior ( from the point of effort involved) opening post , I have difficulty to comprehend reasons for existance of 2 paralel threads, with this, lesser one, eventualy branded as ...official news.

To be fair, the other thread was for the covers released yesterday, and this thread was for the article and new hi-res images released today.

 

To be fair, we must be in the first place fair to the member of this forum who made effort in opening post in the older thread.
Second criteria should be qualiity, again original thread has better quality of pictures.

Strange that quality and effort, as well as avoiding duplicating same threads are dropped as criteria in this case in this respected forum.
