    http://www.themarysue.com/wicket-the-ewok-is-coming-back-in-star-wars-the-force-awakens/

I see many people in the comments there are freaking out, saying it's destined to be terrible now or whatever.

    Really?

What's with all the E-wok hate? Yes Return Of The Jedi isn't that adult friendly due to the E-woks.. but I highly doubt they'll be as present as they were in ROTJ. For all we know it could be a cameo akin to Chewbacca in Episode III.. Wicket waving his stick in the air with some E-woks as they see an explosion in the sky above Endor, I dunno.

Anyway, I don't have a problem with the E-woks overall as long as they have a small amount of plot involvement.

This could all be a load of crap anyway.

Anyway what do you think? Do you think that electronic woks should be in The Force Awakens?

ROTJ is completely adult-friendly. Not sure what you mean by that. Kids liked ewoks, it's true. Lots of adults did too. I'm one of them. Most of the rest of that movie flew completely over the heads of the kids watching at the time. Again, me being one of them. ;) It surprised me to learn about the ewok hate that pervades some corners of Star Wars fandom. Some people just refuse to be happy.

Pretty sure Warwick isn't playing Wicket, or any other ewok. Viral might come in here and say that they are confirmed not to be in this movie, as I believe he has done in other threads.

Vicious little teddy bears. Love them. Couldn't have destroyed the DS2 without them.

Ewoks are fine, but no. Moving on. Perhaps something in a montage that sums up what the war has done to the galaxy far far away, but other than that, no. Keep the recycling where it does the most good, at the aluminum salvage.

Build a bridge, get over it

    Moving on...

An aging Wicket hanging around Leia as part of her entourage would be cool.

    Blasphemy!!!

Ewoks are nothing like Care Bears . . .

Care Bears don't eat storm troopers when then win a fight.

I heard there were care bears at some point in the GFFA, the ewoks said they were even tastier than the little ponies...

This isn't a confirmation. Probably just an mistake/assumption made by the Japanese since Warwick Davis said he is in the movie.

We've had multiple sources say there are no ewoks in TFA.

I thought Warwick was playing one of the aliens in Maz Kanata's place?

Either way, I really don't see ewoks being a part of TFA. We already have at least one forest environment (the jungle planet), possibly two (the snowy forest), I doubt they'd add Endor to the mix.

Also, chiming in on the ewok issue: I loved 'em as a kid, but as an adult they kind of stop the movie dead for me. I understand why they were included in the movie, but they were actually originally supposed to be wookiees. The costumes were too expensive to make and they couldn't find enough extras tall enough to wear them anyway (ah, those pre-CGI days), so, to quote George, they "chopped them in half and called them ewoks." A Wookiees vs Imperials fight would have been epic; the fight we got felt a little shoe-horned, honestly. I don't hate them, but I don't love them either.

It's really funny how the news about Wicket appearing in TFA, spread like wild fire on the web. Too bad it's false.

I've no problem with the ewoks. My problem is with the ewoks defeating a platoon of stormtroopers with rocks and sticks and doing so in the most unconvincing way imaginable. Sure, the booby traps worked and were believable, but the rest of the ewoks should have been butchered easily. That battle also served to make stormtroopers look totally incompetent and their armour worthless.

Ewoks are meh for me... If there was a short Ewok cameo in TFA, I'd be OK with that, but much more than that or them being more than consequential to the plot would be disappointing and unnecessary in my opinion...

Personally I don't see any issue. It would actually be kind of nice to see at least a few Ewoks going away from the tribal aspect to be ambassadors, as long as it's not too large a part of the plot like you said.

Ah, I still remember the days of roaming that weird AOL desktop-within-the-desktop thing and thought it was awesome.

Ewoks can have a use, like crawling through air ducts to sneak around, as Disney has shown a penchant for recently.

Isn't the purpose of the down beat music where the poor ewok finds his friend dead meant to highlight that they were butchered.
