So we all know that the EU timeline is now irrelevant. However, Disney has decided to resurrect a few things from the EU such as Grand Admiral Thrawn for the Rebels TV show. His character has been so far handled really well by the producers for taking that risk.
Now, I wanted to start this thread by asking, are there things in the EU that you hope never come back to haunt the new Canon timeline? Like any super weapons, Chewbacca's death scene, the Solo kids, Yuuzhan Long, etc?

Like for me, I hope that the Sun Crusher from the Jedi Academy trilogy never comes back. That ship deserves to remain in the archives because for one, I think most people are tired of the galaxy continuing to face the potential threat of yet another planet-destroying super-weapon. And two, the ship was poorly designed to begin with.
And another I guess would be Chewie's death scene. We've already lost Han in TFA, we can't lose another beloved character so soon. That was horrible enough reading it (I think its in the Yuuzhan Vong series).

And what about the Yuuzhan Vong, since I already mentioned them? I think fans are torn between them. Some liked their story but others didn't. Heh, I never even finished the whole series myself. I stopped a few books short since I felt like it went on for too long.

What do you guys want Disney to leave permanently in the EU/Legends?

I wouldn't say it's irrelevant, the old EU is still very relevant to me and a lot of it still in my head canon. I'm glad the Vong are gone, and all the events that happened along with them, including the "debate" on whether the Emperor was really a bad guy because he was just trying to protect the blah blah blah. It would be kind of hard to bring back the exact Solo kids from the EU as the canon now has Ben/Kylo and I don't think Han is going to be in any shape to have anymore children. And I too can live without Chewbacca's death, or the death or any beloved character. The main thing I cared about them not tossing out was the Thrawn Trilogy, but that will always be Legends now I suppose.

Well technicaly they used the suncrusher they just they made it a planet & not a ship & having it make the sun go supernova to destroy multiple planets but I agree you don't want that powerful a ship in the new Canon.
Also keep out the weird dinosaur's from The Truce at Bakura book

Nothing from the Death Troopers or Red Harvest books please! Although, the idea of a Star Wars zombie/horror-novel made for a somewhat interesting read, I definitely do not want to see this concept in the new canon.

And if there are don't just add a U to their name, that was kind of duumb.

I just didn't like the way they tied the whole thing into Boba Fett, with them all being clones of his "father" who he himself is a clone of. The famous Clone Wars essentially being fought by an army of Boba Fetts sounds like some crazy EU, fan fiction or random idea shouted at George by a stoned fan at Burger King. Wearing the crown of course. And the prequels along with all the related media have pretty much shattered all the mystery of Boba Fett which was what made him cool to begin with. But the clones themselves were pretty cool once I got used to the whole crazy premise and got to see them in action. If the character who supplied the DNA had another name and wasn't just a huge reach to involve Boba Fett in the PT then the clones would be the best thing about the prequels. But I'd have to say Obi-Wan is, because even though they're kind of cool the clones are tied into one of my least favorite PT decisions. Even worse than Jar Jar, because stupid as he was he didn't have any affect on what had been one of my favorite characters. Jar Jar didn't cause George to to go back and retcon Boba Fett's voice in the OT making it to where can't watch anything except the despecialized edition of Empire.

To be fair to that last bit you're saying, he wanted more of a unity within the franchise

To also be fair it wouldn't have been necessary if they hadn't decided to turn the clones into an army of Boba Fetts. Or if they had thought about casting a little harder. The unity was only necessary because they made the changes. Boba Fett didn't have a very distinctive voice (aside from the electronic distortion and menacing tone which thousands of actors could have achieved) and when they went to cast "him" in the PT they hired a guy with a VERY distinctive voice/accent that sounded nothing like the character. It almost seems as if they did it for the sole purpose of adding more alterations to the OT. Or maybe Jason Wingreen ran over George's dog.

actually, the alterations for boba were a matter after the fact since they were all being developed together.

I apologize, I don't really get what you're saying. They were a matter after what fact and what was being developed together? If you're referring to what I said about the sole purpose of the voice change was for further OT alterations, I was just half-joking about that. I was just illustrating the fact that it almost seems like they went out of their way to create the need for a retcon. Although I guess they could have left it at the believable explanation that he developed his own manner of speech/accent by growing up in a large galaxy without his father.

yeah jango was only a bluprint and each clone had their own characteristics...but the voice thing, i wouldnt call it "legnends" like some people have but rather it is something that makes sense for most poeple like us who actually have a better understanding of the saga as a whole.

I don't really want to get into, or really know where you're going with, this whole thing about people with a better understanding of the saga. I'm just going to say we should agree to disagree because I have recently accidentally derailed a thread (although not on an altogether unrelated topic) and I don't want to turn Kylo Solo's thread about Legends stuff into a PT debate.

I've said it before and I'll say it once more; The Bounty Hunter Wars was an amazing trilogy of novels that should be considered for a canical revision. The survival of Boba Fett and the tales that follow are of artistic genius that would introduce much opportunity for Star Wars to make even more money off of their iconic charecters and situations. As far as I can remember, I don't believe the tales contradict anything canon to this day. The author had done an amazing job creating totally seperate side-stories that could easily coincide with the saga's canon to this day. Characters like Kudar Mubat, Balancesheet, Neelah, Kuat of Kuat, and the entire bounty hunter's guild would be amazing to see on the small or big screen, however improbable that may be.
I also enjoyed the EU's/Legend's continuation of Boba Fett's life into his elderly years in
The Legacy Of The Force books, as well as the continuation of his Bloodline at least two more generations.
Hopefully we will recieve a Boba Fett survival story in the works eventually, and if not, I hope we get to see more prequel appearances of Boba displaying his true skill and genius as deserved.

I do recommend them for fans of horror/zombie novels. Red Harvest took place at a Sith Academy, which I found interesting in itself but then to throw a zombie outbreak in that environment was entertaining... although pretty strange. But that is what they were going for. I read they were trying to do something weird like The Shining but in the Star Wars galaxy. I started Death Troopers but never got through it. I just think there is so much cool stuff going on in the new canon they don't need to bring zombies into it. But maybe that will change if they start running out of material!
