I've been thinking a lot about the new Star Wars stuff that's been coming out lately and I'm obviously excited about all of it. I had never got into Star Wars until last year when I read The Thrawn Trilogy and watch the Clone Wars 3-D animated series. Now, with all the books, movies, comics, shows that are out or coming out, I'm pumped.

But there's a lot that I'd still like to see like a live-action Star Wars Netflix series or, for the purpose of everything in this side of the forums, a book or a series of books focusing on what all happened to Ahsoka Tano after she departed from the Jedi. She's always been one of my favorite Star Wars characters and I just wish they would do more with her.

I know that she's not everyone's favorite character and some even hate her. So what I want to know is: what are some of the books you'd like to see written and what characters would you like to see come to the spotlight of their own EU novel or novel series?

I'd like to see what officially takes place between Empire and RotJ. I like Shadows of the Empire back in the day, so I'd like something in canon to fill that gap.

Are you watching Rebels? It's looking like 99.9% certain she'll be showing up, either at the end of this season or in the next.

I am watching it, I've fallen a little behind, but only by a few episodes. Glad to know that her chances of showing up are seemingly growing. Why do you say you are that certain though? I know there was the Fulcrom rumor but has something else happened that I haven't seen yet?

In the next episode it's likely she will be revealed to be Fulcrum.

As for future novels, anything set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, I would also take some stuff pre-The Phantom Menace to get the canon history of the Sith, Jedi, etc.

I agree on the Ahsoka part. Like others said, she's almost definitely going to appear in Rebels soon, but a book detailing her time between her departure from the Jedi to the time of Rebels would be good to see.

I look forward most to a series addressing the period between the OT and ST. I just hope they don't get too crazy like the old EU did, with the few main characters seeming to be a part of every single thing that happened in the galaxy.

I'd like to see a book set during the OT-ST period that is either devoid of any of the main film characters, or does not feature their viewpoint. What I mean is, someone like Luke or Leia may appear in the book, but you only get their dialogue and actions from another person's perspective, not their own. A book about the common Rebel or Imperial soldier, something like that.

I want a book, starring Cade Skywalker and Ania Solo... where the universe begins to tear itself apart, rifts appear and Cade begins to feel the need to travel to the source of the problem, because he sees the faults in the universe and the force that he sees in people and living things. the force itself has been wounded, sending shockwaves backwards and forwards in space and time unraveling what is and isn't.

Sith lords, followers of Kreia (whether there is time travel happening here or not I would decline to say, I just hope they keep time travel out of Star Wars in the new Canon) begin to pour into the wound.

this wound located where the emperor died, a wound caused by his death... a wound that not only unraveled history, but caused the emperors taint to repeat itself again and again causing far more Jedi to fall in the future than should have fallen, to cause empires to keep trying to reassert itself... for the force and the universe to try to properly end the conflict, in an unending loop to try to heal itself.

The conflicts that follow the emperors death are often criticized as being re-hashes of hte original story... take advantage of that in this story. Show that the universe is sick... If you take the time travel route, let the greatest heroes of days past clash with the greatest evils the universe has ever known... no matter how silly they be.

    Jedi, Sith, and otherwise...

And then let Cade Skywalker enter the wound itself, and do what he was born to do... heal the universe. And show the universe try to reassert itself and repair itself, show scenes from the infinities comics unraveling, show events and characters become their true selves as they are in the new canon, perhaps if Rey and Kylo are Han Solo and Leias children show Jacen and Jaina become them as time shifts and the universe collapses to what it should be...

Make it intense, and dramatic, and depressing... Maybe even have Cade Skywalker, and the heroes of the Star Wars series come to the realization that their own lives may not be around, or may be far to altered to be recognizable... but to do what Jedi must do, to give up their lives for what is right and good in the universe.

I would chose Cade Skywalkers last words to be before this re-alignment to simply be "I dont know what is to come... but... We mattered"

Maybe... one final page... one final thing... that shows the universe 500 years after the battle of Endor, a young Cade Skywalker with a slightly different design... something to show that the future is not entirely lost, and that these characters can andwill be remembered.

One last great adventure in the EU... the adventure... to literally end all adventures... and to give the fans of the expanded universe some of the closure they desperately desired.

With the latest news on the book releases I wanted to come by here and see what people are saying about the EU. I really want to get into the new EU because it seems like it will be tied together better then legends was. But here is a few books/comics I would like to see:

Yoda and Luke: I love the idea of a whole book about luke's training with yoda between ESB and ROTJ. I think it would not only be a chance to tell some yoda story but also give us a better idea of what lukes powers were like and how yoda set him up for future training.

Still crispy Vader: I want a new book from vaders perspective explaining what happened the moment his suit was put on him. I know legends has some stuff but I think it would be cool to show vader adjusting to the suit and hunting down jedi. I also want to know more about his sith teachings. All other sith were trained and taught the history and all that but for vader it just seemed like "O your a darth now. Just kill stuff and be scary and your sith".

New Darth Bane rule of two : Either make a new one or make the old one canon.

Those are the top 3 I want to read but I really hope they do companion comics with some of the novels. I don't have time to read every book so i had to pick and choose what I could spend time on. Some of the books I could read the comic for (thrawn trilogy, dark empire(? the one where luke goes dark with the emp clone) ) and it would give me the story along with visuals because I hate having to stop reading to look up a ship or species or something.

I say strip the old Darth Bane saga from canon, combine it with the TOR era...
