SPECULATION What if Obi-Wan had hidden Leia on Tatooine instead?

If you are going to go this route, it's implied seeing as there is no reveal of his "real" last name only that he calls himself that and so do others. That implies that he was always known as Skywalker. Can you point out where in A New Hope his surname is ever brought into question?

 

Can you point to any moment in A New Hope where they called him anything BUT Luke Skywalker? He busts in on the Princess and says "I'm Luke Skywalker". The reason there isn't a scene where Luke's name was addressed is because there wasn't any need to at the time because it was a non-issue. I can't find evidence of something that doesn't exist, in this case a different last name for Luke on Tatooine. It only became strange that he should keep his last name after TESB retconned their relationship. Which is fine with me, I'm not putting down the franchise. My enjoyment of it is not based on the notion that the exact story of Ep. 1-6 were sitting in George's sock drawer waiting to be unleashed on the world. I personally find it impressive how he adapted to the situations he found himself in, to the reaction of fans and was able to create the story we all know and love on the fly from the source material he had been working on for so long. Have you read the Journal Of The Whills and early drafts of Ep. IV and V scripts? Not that I recommend them, I personally find scripts boring and I'm glad Star Wars evolved from the earlier concepts, but it's all there. It's not a big deal though. It doesn't ruin the movies knowing that some of these plot points and relationships evolved through the course of writing the films.
