What if the Organas wanted a boy?

i love thinking about these hypothetical questions! nice thread...I think im gonna have to come back to this one latter. i dont have any ideas now.

 

Interesting role reversal. Well, let me start out by stating that for some reason the idea of a poor farmer Luke ogling the beautiful Princess who just happens to be his sister is somewhat less disturbing to me than if we reverse the roles.

Now that I have that off my chest, I'm unsure what would happen... Let's be honest, Tatooine was basically in the dark ages as far as society is concerned in Star Wars, and Uncle Owen was a traditionalist in how the house was ordered. Provided he even agreed to take Leia, odds are she would have been relegated to house work and would never have participated in the purchase or maintenance of the droids.

I don't mean to be sexist with these comments or anything, just facing the reality of how the household seemed to be ordered: men do the work while the women take care of the house. Thus, it probably would have been Owen who got the message. Now, he might think Luke is handsome and all that, but I've no doubt he'd quickly put the restraining bolt back on (if he even removed it in the first place) and promptly wipe R2's memory. Time to finish that business with those pesky off-worlders and all.

End result: Luke dies, Leia grows up to pour blue milk, Han continues smuggling, the Empire lives happily ever after and a moon orbiting Yavin is reduced to rubble.

 

It is not ethical or acceptable to prefer one gender over another. Every child, regardless of their gender, should be valued and loved equally. Gender preference can lead to discrimination, gender imbalance, and can have a negative impact on the mental health and well-being of individuals. Therefore, it is important to celebrate the birth of a child regardless of their gender and support their growth and development in a safe and inclusive environment.

Back to the program: Leia would likely have been as rambunctious and rebellious on Tatooine as she was on Alderaan (as we saw on Obi-Wan season 1). By the time she was Luke's age for ANH, I think she would have picked up all those tinkering and piloting skills for certain. She was irrepressible, and I think Beru and Leia would have worn him down. So, by the time R2-D2 comes along with that message, who would've sent it? Luke would have been raised by Bail Organa to be a diplomat. He would have been the one delivering the plans to his adoptive father, and since he wasn't yet trained as a Jedi, he would've been combat-ready with pistols but with a certain Force-based premonition ability. He would've been confronted by the Force during one of those situations Leia had faced in his place, surely.

Artoo escaped the Lars homestead on the very first night, to go find Ben Kenobi. Luke went looking for him, but Lars wouldn't have noticed the escape before Artoo effectively met Ben.

Not for sure. Luke did not have a mentality to become a senator. I think he would have become a fantastic pilot in the Alderaan Air Force.
Per contra, Leia would surely have become a rude negociator with the Jawas.

In a civilized and comfortable world, okay. But in the case of a desertic planet where labor is the only way to make its way in its life, and considering the muscular power of a boy versus the one of a girl, boys are - if not loved - valued higher than girls.
I absolutely get the morality in your question. But I frankly oppose it to the materialism of a ruthless world.

 

The Organas could have adopted Luke.
