What rumored SCENES or things are you looking forward to the most?

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I hope they go with a CGI version of Admiral Ackbar in TLJ. This gets me on my soap box about the complaints of Lucas' use of CGI in the prequels. Did he use to much? Yes. But it's not nearly as bad as the complaint bandwagon snowball has grown to in the aftermath. The pod race scene was all CGI and that was one of the best of all SW movies. How do you do the scenes on Coruscant without CGI? Same goes for the battle scenes.

Rogue One and The Force Awakens are perfect examples of where the CGI fear became a problem. The CGI version of Admiral Raddus in RO looked like a Mon Calamari. Admiral Ackbar in TFA looked like a man in a puppet suit.

 

But Raddus was practical...

 

Maybe the part where they were in the hanger. But the battle scenes looked 100% CGI to me. If it was practical, then how did he look 90% more convincing than Ackbar?

 

No, he's definitely all practical throughout the whole film. Speaking of Ackbar in TFA, his design was changed a bit when compared to his RotJ look to show off his aging. His neck is much more wrinkled, he has more "beard hair" and his nostrils were more exposed. After all, at the time of TFA he was approaching his nineties and since Mon Calamari age at the same rate as human, he was bound to look different from his times in the Rebellion.

 

You are correct - it appears to have been mostly practical effects. So I'll restate my wish ...

I hope they go with the people/methods they used to create Raddus vs the ones that did Ackbar in TFA

I have no problem with him being aged. But when he moved(which was very little) or talked, he looked like a man in a puppet suit. Raddus looked convincing.

 

Weren't the eyes of Raddus CGI enhanced?

 

Maz Kanata was awesome IMO. I hope and expect we will see more of her.

 

IMO that matches the way he looked in the movie.

 

I hope Luke uses the force to take it from her.

I didn't even think about this; great observation! What if seeing Leia in the hologram ends up being the last time he see's her; talk about a bookend to their relationship.

 

1.) Yoda (he's rumored to be in scenes with Luke and Rey)
2.) KOR/KR versus Luke/Rey
3.) Laura Dern's character and Poe fighting for control of the Resistance fleet
4.) Snoke's throne room
5.) Luke going to find Snoke and Rey going to find Kylo (recent speculation)

 

I hope he does that too, if nit's the last time we see her, she played that scene well.

 

I agree the scene would be more emotional if they saw each other in person. Still, I believe they could pull off making the scene emotional, especially with John Williams help. I think most people want a scene with them two together, since we didn't get one with Luke and Han together in TFA. I am looking forward to his reunion with R2.

 

IMO - Why a hologram? She filmed the whole movie. I want to see a Luke, Leia, Chewy, R2, and 3PO reunion. There's no reason that can't happen.

And where's Wedge? He's still alive at the end of Aftermath - wouldn't he be part of the resistance?

 

I want to see that as well, but rumors of Luke being on the island most of the movie has me thinking this won't happen. I hope this not the case and the rumors are not true. Seeing the gang back together in words would be "Wonderful"!

Although it seems as though the art of epic lightsaber battles was lost along with the Jedi order.... let us hope that Luke also found a saber training Holocron during his time away after ROTJ
