From waht I've read, Mace Windu's fighting style was more prone to the dark side of the force or something like that. In this case it was a matter his survival or Palpatine's

Vaapad. Skirted close to the dark side or something. Not sure why.

Interesting thread. If I remember correctly, in ROTS, Yoda goes to kill Palpatine right? He fails but the intent was to kill him if I'm not mistaken. Obi-Wan begs Yoda to send him kill the Emporor instead of Anakin so I would guess that under extreme circumstances, Jedi are allowed to kill if they feel it is the will of the Force. As to when a Jedi goes too far, my guess would be when they completely give in to the dark side and use their anger and passion to channel their power.

    Great post!

I truly think it falls to the strength of the Jedi and the foe they may face.

In moments of complete fighting which the stakes are my life or theirs. Eg, Kenobi killing Maul, that was unavoidable!

In moments where sidious was "defeated" in that moment I feel a pure Jedi, eg, kenobi, yoda would have also taken him to stand trial! Where mace as arguably the movies only real Grey Jedi, took the it to the level of borderline murder for the great good.

But when have they gone to far? Well, they're keepers of the peace and those they might upset that peace must be dealt with accordingly.

But moments where Anakin killed Dooku that, like Mace with Sidious was going too far and not following the law of trial or the Jedi order :)
