GAME Which Actors Could You See In A Star Wars Movie?

I really love Jake Gyllenhal, and I would just like to see him in a SW movie. He’s super talented and very versatile, and, since he was in Spider-Man, I imagine he might be down to do Star Wars!

I kinda already had one of these things fulfilled with Timothy Olaphant in Mandalorian as a cowboy in space, so I guess I’d also like to see Walter Goggins! He could play a great villain I think, like a gang leader.

There have been other lists with similar thoughts, so I'll quote my replies from those, as my feeling still stand. Hilariously, Ming-Na Wen is in one of those quotes, and I have her pegged as a Mandalorian. She may not be a Mandalorian, but she showed up in a show named that, so good for her!

There are a few other actors I'd love to see in Star Wars as well. I'll list some of them below, but many of them I'm still discovering or trying to keep close to my chest in case we do another Star Wars movie draft game. (And in the case I do add those actors here, I'm saving their roles for that game.)

I think most actors fit into Star Wars very well. The only exceptions would be someone like Denzel, Tom Cruise, RDJ, The Rock, Jack Black etc.
Someone just so famous and stand out that you'd almost be removed from seeing them as anything but them.

 

I think these three could actually work really well, tbh. To me the key is manipulating their fame. For all three (and really all of the actors you chose), you either want the audience to say "this is XYZ actor" or "this is XYZ actor in a role I haven't seen them do yet/in a long time." For Star Wars, we'd clearly want the latter.

Tom needs a role that fits his intensity. Manipulate that natural charm into a thin facade of civility. In my mind that'd be some sort of Imperial special ops commander who needs to accomplish his mission no matter what. He'd be nice, but only up until you served your purpose. Basically, show what he's like when you're the bad guy of a Mission Impossible film. His special brand of doing impossible stunts would be lessened, yes, but I think his character would still be rightfully intimidating. Putting some scars and giving him a haircut (or more hair) may help hide his face too.

RDJ needs a little more work. I think he'd need to be an alien of some sort, but I think his acting would work well with Star Wars. But therein lies the problem - an actor as highly paid, recognizable, and famous as RDJ may not want to cover up his money-maker. But if he did it for Tropic Thunder, then it might work here.

The Rock is both the hardest and the easiest. My best fit would be to make him a droid. That way we can get his voice and physical acting without being distracted by his physical presence. He's done voice work before, and seemingly isn't picky about his roles at this stage in his career (so long as he's having fun from what I can gather), so I think he'd shine as a sort of snarky-yet-delusional-and-hilarious droid. Besides, MoCap may be a new frontier for The Rock, and one he'd definitely have fun with.

I think this young actress is incredibly good and could imagine that girls like my daughterwould adore her, if she could play a young heroine.

 

One thing that distresses me is that we never got to see Tatiana Maslaney (from Orphan Black) in a Star Wars. She had turned in a resume for the role of Jyn Erso, but was turned down. In my personal opinion, this woman is the greatest actress of all times. She can play ANY kind of character from any background (just watch Orphan Black if you have any doubt.) It makes me even more frustrated when Marvel picked her up to play, of all things, She-Hulk for Disney+. That woman is way too talented to simply play a big green monster in my opinion.

Asbaek was great in Borgen. He would indeed be cool as "Scoundrel".

 

I know they tried out for multiple rolls but I could really see Brie Larson or Tom Holland being in a role.

 

Hopefully we are finished with evil fascists as villains. I would enjoy to see more of a business and the super natural. Someone who is cunning and ruthless. My favourite is Damian Lewis AKA Bobby Axelrod from Billions or Jude Law as the Pope. Someone who can do an iron fist in a velvet glove. Hopefully we will get that sort of villain.

 

Not a actor but would like to be in Star Wars, as extra or background or something like that.
