Who do you see switching to the other side in The Last Jedi?

IMO most likely to least likely:

Holdo <---- most likely, she seems like she could be a Centrist who secretly supports the First Order and later defects after a fight with Leia
    Phasma
    Kylo
    Rose
    Finn
    Rey
    Luke
    Poe
Hux <--- least likely, seems utterly brainwashed into believe the First Order is best.

Holdo I think is going to either drag her feet continuing Republic support for the resistance or out right lead a segment of republic worlds who see peace with the 1st Order preferable to continuing the fight.

Kylo I have a feeling might be on his way to betraying his master but once done he will simply light sabre tantrum until his orcers are followed.

Finn is a big deal in the resistance but he might be suspect among Republic types. Playing into the "It takes a Thief" theory.

I definitely get the feeling that Holdo is not a trustworthy character, so I feel like if any of the characters will flat out switch sides, it will be her. However, that being said, it's hard to say if anyone will actually switch sides in this film or not.

I will say, though, that I've seen multiple people propose that both Kylo Ren and Rey will switch sides—although maybe not permanently—because Kylo Ren is the Skywalker of the Sequel Trilogy. Being that Rey has already been established as the main protagonist of these new films, I really find it hard to believe that she would turn to the Dark Side (although it is possible that she will be tempted by it and briefly give in to her temptations). However, I do think it is entirely possible that Kylo Ren could be redeemed, though I doubt it will be in this film because he's the main antagonist and will most likely assume that role for Episode IX too.

I also feel like this mysterious "DJ" character could easily defect, although I'm not sure that he really has a side to begin with. If he is actually on a side, though, I feel like he'll be revealed as a double agent.

Holdo is the obvious choice because to me, it doesn't upset the established dynamics, it's almost irrelevant (based on available information) if Holdo changes whereas if Kylo or Rey or Luke changed teams, the effects would be seismic.

I voted Holdo, I can see her disagreement with Leia may cause her change sides & leak the resistance base hence why there was a space battle saw in the celebration trailer

My guess is nobody really changes sides. However, the movie will explore how far good people will go to defeat evil and I think this will be done through Leah going extreme in her military tactics.
    • Leah has faced The Empire and now The First Order and remnants of The Empire are what came together to form the First Order. Leah thinks that if anything is left of the First Order after this war it could regroup and come back again as a new threat. So all of the first order must be destroyed, every ship, every soldier, all of it must be wiped out. Not to mention, she is super pissed that Han was killed because of Snoke and the First Order corrupting her son.
    • Haldo will the voice of reconciliation and unity. She will be the one preaching that the resistance needs to follow the rules of war and reunite the galaxy and that just destroying the entirety of the first order will create a greater divide between worlds instead of bringing everyone together for peace.
    • We know that Finn is sent on a mission to meet the mysterious character played by Benicio Del Toro. It's my belief that Leah sends Finn on a mission to help strengthen the resistence by getting the help from some pretty bad, criminal or extremist groups. (The rebellion got some help from smugglers and seedy individuals in the past but this time is taken to the extreme.)
    • Haldo thinks it's wrong to try and beat The First Order by aligning the resistance with these bad, criminal or extremist groups.

That's an interesting perspective. I always assumed Holdo would be the extremist, and that would be the cause for the tension between her and Leia. However, as you've pointed out, we obviously know Leia's background, whereas we know nothing about Holdo, and based on Leia's story, she could be motivated to go to new extremes with this film, having faced the Empire before and now having lost her son and her husband to the First Order. I'm curious to know how this plays out!

Not sure if you have read Bloodline but if not it's great. Really shows how the galaxy has moved past Leah's generations way of thinking. That book is the main inspiration for me thinking Leah will become and be seen as an extremist in her proposed method for defeating The First Order.

I have read Bloodline, and I agree that it's a fantastic book. To be honest, I never really thought about that, but I definitely think you're right. Bloodline definitely developed her character in a way where she could easily be an extremist, simply because she has suffered so many personal losses at the hands of both the Empire and the First Order. I think that's a really good point, actually—I like the way you think! :)
