Why Will Rey Return to Jakku?

i can see Kylo Ren going back to Jakku to rough blobfish up for information before i see Rey wanting to return.
the only reason i can see Luke or Rey coming back is if there is something important about the Church of the Force.
but if the research facility or Jakku's status as the end of the Empire or the CotF is critical, it'll need to be established in viii because right now those things are only clear to people keeping up with the new EU.

 

Maybe there's a mention of it from Hux when they're trying to find a way to lure out Rey and Luke.

 

Is that a request or a missing link?

My thoughts on how Rey got left on Jakku runs along the lines that she and her "family" were on Jakku to find something (from the secret base of course), and they went to Unkar, the receiver of all scavenged stuff. While there someones who had been hunting them unexpectedly showed up. They made a quick deal to leave the young child with Unkar and then fled, knowing they would not survive, but giving the girl the slimmest of chances to survive.

 

There does seem to be something with Unkar serving as an uncle to rear Rey. This could very well be to deliberately mirror Rey's situation on Jakku with Luke's on Tatooine at the beginning of Star Wars.

My friend and I were talking along these lines the other day in regards to the deleted scene with Unkar Plutt. He shows up at Maz’s castle when Rey and the gang are there. Ultimately, he loses an arm to Chewie. This scene is also found in the movie novelization written by Alan Dean Foster.

Unkar Plutt may have come to the castle for more than just retrieving the Millennium Falcon and also pursuing BB8. He wants the droid for money to be sure, but perhaps he also doesn't want Rey to get tangled up in a First Order situation. Consider the following:

1. Hence why he offered Rey so many rations in exchange for the droid. He would never have been so rational about handing out that amount of rations, if there was not another motive.
2. And notice he never notified the First Order about the missing droid--he only notified his minions at the Jakku outpost--whereas all the other parties (Kanji Club, Gauvian Death Gang, and Bazine at Maz's castle) contacted the First Order directly.
3. Similar situation to why Uncle Owen doesn't want Luke to join the Academy! When he is able to hire more hands, only then will he let Luke leave Tatooine…. This is just a cover for the uncle's true intention of keeping Luke out of trouble with the Empire.

Did Unkar Plutt really want the droid and the Millennium Falcon; or did he just want to remove Rey from the situation? This makes his deleted scene at the castle all the more interesting.

 

Because she will learn that Skywalker killed her parents.
