    I hope Luke even survives the whole trilogy, but I still have some worries if they want to have a shock moment. :oops:

    They might've considered it once, but not now. I think he will survive IX now (post Fisher's death). I still think he has been weakened in some way though.
    To be fair, Kenobi said "he was too old..." in ANH. If something bad has happened to Luke, then there is reason for that.
    My view is that Rey will be the hero doing the heavy lifting and they can then rebuild the Jedi Order.
    Then there will be another trilogy that they will say is decades later and Luke will have passed away but his legacy would live in with the Jedi.

    There is no way they will kill him in VIII. They'd know the backlash. And you don't hold him back for an entire movie, have this great reveal at the end and then kill him 2 hrs later. Nah. He'll be around for IX.

    I really don't think Luke is going to die in TLJ. I just don't see it happening. I'm not sure what I think his fate in IX will be. I will have to see TLJ before being able to have an educated guess
