The shows set up in The New Republic era are supposed to be standalone, but Book Of Boba Fett was heavily intertwinned with Mandalorian and we haven't seen more details from the Skeleton Crew yet.

Also the world building will definitely be shared and with Mandalorian S2 being the most cameo heavy, let's guess what other characters from already established shows in this era might show up.

I have left out characters like Cara Dune for obvious reasons and characters like Zeb, Mon Mothma and other legacy characters from Clone Wars/Rebels that we saw in the trailer or were hinted at.
Plus, I don't feel like we will see Greef Karga, as his character is heavily linked to the Mandalorian plot and characters.

For other guesses, feel free to discuss your tips and wild head canons!

I think you are misinterpreting the "Stand-alone" issue. Filoni and Favreau have stated that they write these shows to be independent of other shows as it pertains to understanding them and their plotlines. Viewers would not need to "do homework" in order to understand what is going on. The context was mostly in reference to Bo-Katan and/or Asokha with their backstories in Clone Wars and Rebels, and probably to a lesser degree to the whole BoBF Din and Grogu kerpuffle. I think that all these series are going to be quite interwoven and characters will cross over quite often, just not necessarily in ways that could confuse casual viewers.

In other words, a viewer who has never watched any SW, but tunes in to watch Asokha, will be able to enjoy the story, get all the pertinent info and follow the plot without having to digest hours of TCW or Rebels. Of they want to know more, the back stuff will absolutely enhance their experience, but it's not required to enjoy Rosario and Co. in this series.

The less cameos the better IMO - Whilst some will make sense tying in plot for the eventual film - I wouldn’t think season 1 of Ashoka would lead into this. We’re already going to get most of the Rebels and some cross over already.

I really hope they don’t include Grogu too - which by doing so reaks of Disney meddling. “Less is more” can be applied to Star Wars very easily.

We don't really know the scope of this series. I can say it's a very safe bet that there will not be any gratuitous or unnecessary appearances.
Also, to clarify, cameos are one thing, character appearances are another, but I don't see Dave using either unless it serves the story. He already has a phenomenal star-studded cast, and many established characters making their live-action debut. Let's not forget we are also getting Hayden as Vader and there are several other peripheral characters tied to Asokha and the Ghost crew that could make sense appearing as well.

@MBWilson Yeah, probably, thanks for the post.
I tend to maybe lean too much to extreme, because with Book Of Boba Fett and coming from S2 to S3 of Mandalorian was definitely confusing.
Not for me, but I have few friends who skipped BOBF after first or two episodes and they didn't care or knew that there is actually follow up to Mandalorian from Episode 5, because who would! So they missed Grogu with Luke and N1 Starfighter retrofit and are bit confused coming to Mandalorian after two years.

Hence my thinking is more around the hope, that sure, there will be some threads resonating in-between the shows, but they won't pull off the Book Of Boba Fett again to resolve storylines from respective series in others.

I don't mind that much, as I am huge fan and watch all of it, except for the kids shows like Lego or the upcoming High Republic one, but when you are casual, this creates a problem.

A couple of other angles here. I also have friends and family that watch Mando and have varying levels of fandom, some very casual. My brother-in-law is the extreme casual viewer. He only watches Mando because my 9 yr old nephew is a super-fan, and that's one of their father-son things. I poked his brain this weekend hoping to get his casual perspective on this season. Not one complaint. His comments were about more starship action, more humor and how cool Bo-Katan is and she should have her own show. He loved Jack Black and "the Back to the Future guy" in the last episode. I asked about Din and Grogu being back together, and he said, "oh yeah. I didn't even think about that." Then I had to explain.

So, I think this whole dilemma about casual viewers feeling lost or confused is a construct of us, the hardcore fans. Casual viewers are just that- casual. If they don't care about the minutiae, they are able to just enjoy what's happening in the here and now. We have something inside of us, as fans, that wants and needs to know every little fiber and just be saturated in stories and Lore, so it seems odd to us that not everybody wants to know more about these things. To some people, the Darksaber is just a fancy laser sword that looks cool. They can enjoy Bo and her current arc without knowing her family history. God bless them... To some point, we are unable to see these things without connecting them to the bigger picture, and therefore, we have a sense of pride and ownership of them. We want the more casual viewers to understand them with the depth that we have, because that makes it more enjoyable. But, some people don't need or want that level of commitment.

Now there is a middle ground there, but honestly, these are the fans who can and will eventually just go back and watch the backstories that they are complaining about. Some folks just aren't going to be happy with how stories are being told because they think their own ideas are better. I watched somebody on YT go on an absolute rant about the BoBF reunion and how it was just a horrible plot device and why should he have to go and watch another series to understand S3, blah, blah, blah. But he had watched BoBF from start to finish, so what's the big deal? Let it go, folks.

These SW series are amazing gifts. The Mandoverse as we now know will all tie together in a feature film, which is pretty cool. We also have so many established eras to draw from, so the future is wide open. We should have full faith that this future is in the good hands of creators who understand the little intricacies of producing quality episodic stuff while maintaining that connective SW tissue into the bigger Galaxy. Created by fans for fans and everyone else.
