Is it possible that we'll see a Dameron in Rogue One? I'm not sure how old Poe Dameron will be in The Force Awakens, but if he's around 35, that would mean he would've been born around the time of the Battle of Yavin. What if Poe's parents were part of the Rebel Alliance during the time frame leading up to A New Hope? There may be a chance that the characters played by Felicity Jones and Diego Luna are the parents of Poe Dameron. Perhaps it's never explicitly mentioned in the movie but maybe it'll be implied that they give birth to Poe after Rogue One while they're stationed on Yavin 4. That would also fit with the rumors that Poe is from Yavin 4. It's a bit of a stretch, but I think it would be a nice way to tie-in Rogue One with the new trilogy.

That would be a neat tie-in!

Interesting... maybe we will see one or both of his parents. Not sure we'll see his birth, but perhaps if they push his age in TFA to about 40, we could see not just his father and/or mother but possibly a heroic death for his father and/or mother.

Poe is the love child of Biggs and Rogue 1.

Personally, I'd rather have fewer "ain't it a small universe?" moments in SW going forward.

I doubt it. I have a feeling these characters will be entirely new and detached.

This is a behind the scenes Phot of the Yavin IV base in Rogue One

Do you think that we will see Poe Dameron's parents since he eluded to his birthplace in a recent interview?

The Guatemalan actor Oscar Isaac thinks his character Poe Dameron in the next "Star Wars" film is from Yavin 4.

I think he’s just having a little fun with the interviewer. I doubt that Yavin is his homeworld and I also doubt that he is a descendant of Organa.

I doubt it because it would make his mom a bit old when they have Poe ...

38 isn't TOO OLD to have kids...I just mean that, if their reveal in the books takes place literally right after ROTJ, Poe was born not too late after, and they don't look to be anymore than ALMOST-THIRTY at that time, so during R1, they are either late-teens or the timeline for them is off .

From shattered empire comic Poe was already born & both his parents were heavily involved in the Rebellion I recon they could form part of the background characters of the rebellion quite easily in Rouge One

I doubt they'll have anything to do with Rogue One. The opening credits for at least one issue of Shattered Empire says they joined the Rebellion "since before the Battle of Hoth." I would think if they had been there since before Episode IV, they would've said "since before the Battle of Yavin."

If they do show up (which I'm kind of hoping they do), I think it'll be a cameo or a shout-out and not as main characters. That being said, @Cevan is right about what's said in Shattered Empire (I'd love to trust and verify, but the latter step can't be taken since I lent out the comics and Lost Stars to a friend and he hasn't had the chance to read and/or return them yet) so they might not have joined. If the base is the one on Yavin IV, maybe this is the event that inspires Poe's parents and we'll see them as civilians?

I always find that animated characters played IRL is worse than IRL characters animated. If that makes sense.

No. We learn of Poe's origin in "Before the Awakening" and "The Shattered Empire" comics.

Edited cause I misread the original post. Thought it said Poe but instead is says "A Dameron".

My answer is still no. If I remember correctly, Poe's parents didn't join the Rebellion until after Yavin.

Nope, but I think there will be clues to some of the questions you have after The Force Awakens in this film. Call it a hunch.
