Thank you for the reply. I'm asking because I found this bit on 4chan (I know but bear with me) and it has some intriguing details. First let me say that he called the movie "Force Unleashed", haha. That and the "Kenu Calrissian" bit is shady...but anyway, I just want to leave this here for people to either laugh at or discuss.

 

I would say this is quite unoriginal (or maybe unimaginative is a better description) to say the least, not to mention his poor grammar.

 

Right, but grammar is unrelated to the actual rumor...

Regardless, it made me speculate like crazy that a Rebellion ship is chasing a Star Destroyer at the beginning of VII. The Star Destroyer crashes on Tatooine. There is a reflection of a star destroyer shaped object in BB8's eyes in the teaser. There is also a crashed star destroyer in the concept art, not to mention an X-wing being pulled by that animal. There is even a possibility that that is Isaac's X-wing after he is damaged in the opening battle and has to land on Tatooine for repairs. This would put all 3 new characters on Tatooine to start the story.

I actually like the concept of the Jawas getting to the crash first. That's their gravy, scavenging things. I also like the concept of them trying to think of what's valuable in the wreckage. This is quite original for TFA rumors so far.

I feel the village can still be burned later when the imperials hunt for what was lost in the wreckage.

I 100% agree that the X-Wing series was some of the best of Legends, and would love to see some of its influence carry over to the ST.

I don't wanna destroy anyone's wishes, but outside of maybe some cameos, I seriously doubt that the TV show material, even being canon now, will be in any regard used for the movie. Because even if they are stating otherwise, the true canon will still be the main movie. The TV show is only aimed on smaller demographics, in case of Rebels on kids mostly, so viewers will be pretty puzzled in cinema, where there will be this character from TV show that they maybe heard about if they have kids and won't probably get it. So no Ahsoka, no Ezra Bridger and no chance that the rumored mysterious cyborg guy will be someone from the TV show.

I really don't understand why is so much people thinking that there will be Ahsoka in TFA etc.

It's important to look on things from the wider perspective, because we are community of geeks watching almost everything that comes out, so these discussions are understandable. But it is crucial to think out of in-universe and more into the business.

One more thing! So, yeah, it is true that there is Ahsoka in-universe somewhere, maybe she's selling yongins on Alderaan before Tarkin orders it's destruction, but the TV show is a spin-off or an extra to the main event and that is a movie. Which is pretty safe approach from the story point, as where is Ahsoka in Episode III?
Well, she doesn't exist and was retconned in spin-off to be written off in the last arc years after the movie succeeding it chronologicaly.

 

I was re-watching season 2 of TWC and heard something interesting.

At the beginning of Episode 3: Children of the Force Masters Obi Wan, Mace Windu, Yoda; and Anakin are in the meditation chamber trying to locate the children about to be taken by Sidious. They Identified 3 children, below is the dialog from the scene:

Yoda: A jungle world, dome cities I see... Rodia it is.

Obi Wan: A house in Kay-Tap Square... yes, I see it too.

Mace Windu: There's an ocean planet, home to... Nautolans... Glee Anselm?

Yoda: Glee Anselm, I see not.

Anakin: I sense... A place I've been to before... waterfalls... Naboo

Yoda: Jan-gwa, southern sector... sense strongly, I do.

Anakin: The Gungan child was screaming!

Yoda: The future you see young Skywalker, Cad Bane you will find, with you take your padawan.

Mace Windu: You are certain there is no child on Glee Anselm?

Yoda: Into the shadow of the dark side, taken the child was. Shrouded is his fate from us, great the lost is... but more children in danger there are.

The dialogue in blue is the mystery at hand, we know that Darth Sidious had begun kidnapping Force-sensitive children from across the galaxy and bring them to Mustafar, but his plans were thwarted by the Jedi. The child referred to in the blue dialogue (The Nautolan) was recovered but his fate and identity are never explored. I believe he makes for a perfect candidate for a villain, possibly the mysterious character portrayed by Serkis in TFA?

Funny I was speaking to my brother about this, and he also brought up exactly what you did about 'Revenge of the Jedi'. Really have my fingers crossed that it is a temporary title, because it is fan fic bad.

 

Not only that, but this is actually Ep VIII. They are starting with that one, then going back to do VII, and then they will finish with IX

 

Which will help kids with their numbers even better than before. 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 8, 7, 9, 10. Aced it.

 

Wait, wasn't episode VIII supposed to be 'The Force Makes Coffee' or am I confusing it with 'The Force stares out of the window.'

 

No no, Episode VIII is 'The Force Resets The Alarm' followed by Episode IX 'The Force Decides F*** It And Calls In Sick'. Then we'll get a surprise 10th episode 'The Force Faces Disciplinary Action', that'll be a beauty.

 

Keep in mind that everything is done for a reason. By releasing the names, they can now collect big data based on name searches via Google and any other service that monitors and sells data. For example, they already have a week of data on if Kylo Ren is being searched more than Finn, Rey or Poe. Think of it as early "focus group" data.

 

That might be the reason why the lifespan isn't canon. They may not want to give it away until the full casting is revealed (I hope by may). They could easily say the Togruta life span is on average 400 years or something, which is why she still looks so young and nobody would think twice because she's an alien.
