Just a suggestion. If a post makes a personal attack a mod should delete that post no matter what. Otherwise you will have hundreds or whatever number of people reading that post and further regressing the thread. I would not even give the poster the benefit of a doubt. I have even had person address me before instead of my post and he is now a mod. It's gotten better but the early days of the Cantina were the worst.

 

I was thinking the same thing. So, either Leia or Rey (if she's the daughte) will inherit the lovable laughing fuzzball's life debt methinks. Assuming of course Han dies. It would be interesting to see if this all a part of the supposed "misinformation" campaign. MSW seems to believe his info and he was right about the teaser trailer. Everyday we get closer to the truth. Unless of course, the world gets blown up before the film comes out. Let's hope not.

 

Well, that all was... interesting to read, to say the least. (talking about the thread history here)

Anywho, going way back to the original intent of the post, I must say the thought of Han's death is certainly nothing new. Ford wanted it for a while, and rumor for TFA has been spinning along that way anyways. What's notable here is that it's presented as not mere speculation or rumor, but fact.

In any case, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for various reasons. Primarily, just because it feels right. And I have no qualms they'll handle it in a manner well enough for Star Wars. It's never really been about characters' tears so much, though arguably the characters who have died we did not have, at the time, any huge emotional attachments to. For instance Obi-Wan in ANH -- for most of us, he dies as a mentor for the cause, and we didn't have three films before that point to get very much attached to him.

I think they'll hit us hard but his us right.


Probably Chewie's reaction alone will be what gets us, not Han's actual death.

• Finn, Rey, Chewbacca and BB-8 stop in their tracks.
• They watch as Han Solo confronts Kylo Ren. Kylo Rnn silences the conversation forever.
• Chewbacca lets out of a barrage of angry roars and laser blasts.
• Kylo Ren flees the scene.
• Explosions.
• Stormtroopers file in and Finn and Rey are forced to flee.
• More explosions.
• BB-8 and Chewbacca flee to the Falcon.

Han Solo is never in a scene after this. Those are the facts.

 

Uhhhhh, wasn't better to put "Character's Death" on title instead of simply throw the spoiler?

Facts? I haven't see any proof of those so-called facts

EDIT: Well, I didn't see the MSW post until now, I'm trying to avoid major spoilers. I see you just copied and pasted what they wrote. But, still, I haven't see any real fact. As much as MSW could be believable, I actually don't trust any Internet blog and their so-called sources until I see it with my own eyes from official channels

 

If it turns out to be true then it turns out to be true. Obviously it just being a few bullet points makes it seems very non dramatic and like Han doesn't get a proper send off but I'm sure it will play out better within the actual context. It makes sense that Han would be knocked out in TFA or VIII with Harrison Ford only getting older. I wouldn't be surprised though if like someone said earlier they filmed a few different versions of scenes to give them options or simply to add confusion about what exactly happens.

Side note: Why are the names always misspelled? It's "Kylo Ren" dammit.

I read the last pages and this thread got a really weird twist in a bad way.
Sure this board needs news all the time to keep going, but I would like to ignore some spoiler giving sources.
I have already the feeling that I know to much about Ep.VII and I hope that most of the spoilers will not be confirmed in the movie.
Han Solo will probably bites the dust in this one, Ford is 72 years old and I would be surprised if he comes back for Ep.VIII.
Many actors don't like their role who gave them stardom, another example is Sean Connery, he never liked playing James Bond.

 

How do I really feel? I feel MSW is the best site for reliability. SW7 is the best site for plausibility. They are the top 2 sites for SW news, and when mixed in with Indie Revolver, make a championship worthy triangle offense.

Kyle, you've been on point a lot, too. And you deserve your credit. And I hate it that there's somewhat of a petty "beef" going on with MSW, but yall need to rise above the hate lol!

I just call it like I see it. I originally came from TFN/JCF. Eventually I had to flee that nest, though, I still post there from time to time. But MSW, SW7N, and Indie Revolver are the best, and in that order, and I don't know why anyone is upset about it. At the end of the day, we're all in this ish together yo

I just want to spread positivity and love throughout the community. I don't want to cause problems on here, and if that's what I was seemingly doing, I apologize. I just want to have the best SW TFA experience possible, and it is thanks to SW7N and MSW that I've had the opportunity to have such a great time.

And in regards to comments on MSW, might it be because of the Wordpress spammers on the comments section that they disable the function? I do the same on my website!

 

Even though Han's death would destroy me, you're right. It would be the perfect end to his selfish rogue-turned-selfless hero arc.

 

This is a rather strange article. Its weird you can read something and decide its real or not when you don’t really know anything. Alas, I think this would make for a good scene for sure and am happy it was shared. I think it’s the right way to go. Good research by everyone involved!
