    I gotcha @Pastor Barndog.

Not trying to rush things, and figure that it is the end of act 1 where Han comes in, but they (Finn and crew) reportedly spend the rest of the movie with Han.

Even granting 30 minutes to the ST crew to get to Han, that leaves a lot of time on "mostly" one planet, getting from intro to first act climax. If it's longer than 30 minutes, there has to be a lot of cuts to "other things."

That was the gist of my post--what else is going on? I was just thinking that there must be a lot of little details here and there that are missing, even from Act 1.

If you put all the rumors together from MSW, spoilerman and every other internet sourceries;this movie will be 6 hours long...and that's just the first ACT.

Cause that's all it seems we hear about. Oh, sure then there is Rey handing Luke the lightsaber im the last of the 3rd ACT.

So this movie may end up 12 hours if we can get the 2nd ACT rumors going :p

That's sort of what I am getting at. The rumors do not meet the balance of a scripts needs. It seems way to heavy for what could be an Act 1, way to light for act 3, and nothing for act 2.

No, you were clear. This was the phrase he was talking about:

I take it that you probably don't need me to clarify why the phrasing's a bit suggestive, here.

That's really how the the bulk of these "spoilers" have been presented. The trailer description sounded far more legit if only because there was some new info that needed a place in the film (like the black TIE attack) and with ACT 1 seemingly jam-packed, you have to assume it would be in ACT 2 or leading up to the climax.

The same with who some of the actors are playing. There can't be as many large role characters as some people are speculating. SW always has few leads but A LOT of small part supporting characters.

So. Is Luke actually this film's MacGuffin, and not the saber?

Is he the Ark of the Covenant? Everyone is looking for this unbelievable power, to either use for good or evil, and the plot is a race to fin him? I'm starting to see the parallels. Can I just say, I hope not.

Then, if Luke is the Macguffin, parallel to the Ark of Alliance, he will appear in more than one scene, as the story always continues after they find the Macguffin, to give us conclusions and a wrap to that part of the story (same with Indiana Jones in his different movies) Whoever made the "one scene Luke" theory just does not know a crap about screen writing and it´s taking us for fools.

I think their latest fan podcast gives a little context to these extras now even if they didn't have these quotes in mind when recording.

    http://makingstarwars.net/2015/03/episode-69-makingstarwars-nets-now-this-is-podcasting/

    http://www.starwars7news.com/2014/06/rumor-possible-star-wars-episode-7.html

It seems like now it's the Millennium Falcon and TIE fighter IMAX scene.

I've wondered if the gender pronoun was mistranslated by Google. It's from a rarely-spoken language:

    http://thecantina.starwars7news.com...ens-news-rumors-thread.153/page-18#post-13411

I thought it was for Finn because the pronoun, but maybe this is how Rey rescues BB-8 from the scavengers?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Jason does his webpage. I check it out fairly often, and I've even tried listening to his podcast. He's been as good or better than anyone at coming up with spoilers. He's pretty straight forward about how reliable he believe his information is, and so far when he's put faith in stuff, it's turned out to be right. You got to hand that to the guy.

But that tweet has got to be one of the most hypocritical things he could possibly have posted. Nobody spends more time thinking about Star Wars than him. Nobody. If he wants people to spend more time worrying about real news, he should start with himself.

Uh, he meant you should scrutinize Star Wars leakers like you would a story in the main stream press.

I disagree. Time spent shouldn't be conflated with level of scrutiny. The tweet isn't about how concerned people are with the news vs something frivolous, like star wars. It is instead lamenting the fact that people hold a much higher level of skeptism for their hobbies than they do for the news.

Clearly JW takes criticism to heart. Can you blame him?

Listen to his podcasts, he's constantly defending himself. Deserved or not, he does get a lot of flak.

But I really feel like he could spare himself the trouble by simply not getting so defensive when people question him. He will always face a level of scrutiny in doing what he's doing. He needs to rise above it and realize that we only ask for clarification because we want to know. We're not being dicks, not all the time, we're just curious; and skeptical. Sorry.

You can argue with the semantics if you like, but it's no less hypocritical that way since his entire website is devoted to scrutinizing Star Wars spoilers, and he's certainly johnny-on-the-spot when it comes to picking apart anyone else's spoilers (see this very website's Possilbe Trailer Spoilers article from last week if you would like an example).

And if he really thinks the news gets less scrutiny that his Star Wars spoilers, he ought to peek into any news or politics forum. It's not even close.

    This.

I think everyone gets that he's doing his best to find and post accurate information. When people question the validity of his sources, that's not a personal attack. It's not as though he's never posted anything that was later found to be inaccurate.

I'm going have to say no. The supposed lightsaber leads to Luke. So it would be the MacGuffin.

Yes this is a MacGuffin. Not to be confused with:
