I don't see how it is a semantic argument. Nor do I see his behavior as hypocritical.

He says that people should scrutinize the news as much as they do star wars rumors. In order for him to be a hypocrite he would have to not scrutinize the news as much as star wars rumors.

His sometimes rude behavior, or scrutiny of other rumors seems irrelevant to the tweet.

I agree with your point about new and political forums. His initial tweet is a little apples-to-oranges. While I agree the ignorant masses don't scrutinize the news, they also don't give a crap about star wars. Only us hardcore fans are concerned with star wars, and hard core news fans do scrutinize the news.

I agree. But what I'm saying is it is alot going on. Too busy for a first Act.

According to rumors. Poe crashes x-wing. Fin and Poe is in jail or brig. Escape, steal a Tie Fighter, crash it. Then Rey and Finn steal the Falcon supposedly.

There is some truth somewhere. It's just all muddled.

A lot happens in the first act of all the SW films, they're pretty dense in content and whip through it quickly. The screenplay could accommodate all the desert planet-brig-desert pursuit-giant freighter scenes - and more - in a 20 minute span.

In the rumors there is a lot going on. Whether it is too busy for the first act will all depend on the pacing, the amount of dialogue, and the execution of the scenes. If done well it could work and not seem all crammed in like the description does when describing it. It will be interesting to see what all is correct and what isn't.

I peed myself during hard laughing, what a weird and funny line at once.
    @Rieekan keep it coming.
    What was the topic about?
Posts like that interrupt my thinking process and I can't write anymore.

Edit: 5 minutes later I'am still laughing and thinking it's funny. (I got a brain damage thank you)

Edit number 2: it's still funny after 10 minutes, I think I got a serious problem.

A lot of people have asked if Jason could put all of his info in some kind of chronological order and I don't know if anyone has done that (at least not on this thread) so I thought I'd type it all up for anyone who wants to read it. This is everything I can find from MSW recent spoilers. Obviously there are a bunch of holes as we don't have all the pieces of the puzzle, but I think seeing it this way helps to make a lot more sense out of the plot.

    Act One

“A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…”

Opening Crawl describes the state of the galaxy after the destruction of the second Death Star and the defeat of the Emperor and Darth Vader. Probably reveals that the Empire has gradually recovered from its losses and is slowly beginning to pick apart the Rebel Alliance once more, perhaps with renewed malevolence. Additionally, Luke Skywalker has been missing for years and the Jedi are all but forgotten once again.

A lightsaber floats through space and falls to a planet’s surface, landing in a savannah setting. A mysterious hand reaches out to touch it…

Some time later (possibly years), an Imperial Drop Ship carries a battalion of Stormtroopers towards a Sand Planet. One of them – Finn - speaks to a fellow trooper, who is his best friend in the fleet. They arrive on the planet at night and disembark.

Meanwhile, X-Wing pilot, Poe Dameron, arrives on the same planet (did the Empire follow him in secret?). Along with his droid, BB-8, Poe meets with a wealthy man known as The Vicar, who contacted the Alliance because he recently acquired a lightsaber from a local trader. Suddenly, the sound of a commotion alerts Poe and he goes to check it out. Standing atop a cliff, he can see Stormtroopers invading a village below and decides to help out. He puts the lightsaber inside a hidden compartment within BB-8 and tells the droid to hide. Poe then leaves to confront the invaders.

Poe (and perhaps some of the villagers) fire back at the Stormtroopers. Another ship arrives carrying the evil Imperial leader Kylo Ren, who orders his troops to burn down the village. During the battle, Finn’s friend is shot and killed. Realizing the horror of the situation, Finn allows some innocent villagers to escape. The Stormtroopers use flamethrowers to burn the village, including Poe’s X-Wing. Poe confronts Kylo and is defeated and captured.

The Imperials return to an orbiting Star Destroyer where Poe is put into the brig and Finn is yelled at by his commanding officer. Deciding to leave the Empire once and for all, Finn seeks out Poe in the brig. Finn never learned to pilot a ship, so he agrees to spring Poe from prison if he’ll help him escape. Poe agrees and the two of them are successful at sneaking aboard a TIE Fighter and blasting their way off the ship.

The TIE Fighter takes damage and crash lands on the Sand Planet. Poe (who might be injured, not sure) decides to stay with the downed ship and repair it while Finn takes off into the desert (maybe Poe only agreed to help Finn if they went their separate ways after escaping). Kylo Ren sends out troops to the planet’s surface to find the fugitives and the missing lightsaber (I assume they know it’s inside the droid at this point?).

A young woman named Rey climbs perilously inside the abandoned hulk of a downed Star Destroyer, scavenging for anything of value. Using her considerable skills, she navigates the passages until finding some scrap she can sell. Rey leaves the ship and heads off to town on her speeder. After selling her wares, she hops back on the speeder and flies into the sunset on her way home. She lives alone inside a makeshift dwelling, carved out of the belly of an old AT-AT. We see her eat dinner by herself until she hears something going on outside. It appears that local scavengers (perhaps of the criminal sort) are chasing BB-8 and Rey manages to rescue the droid. Grateful, BB-8 takes to Rey like a loyal puppy, but that doesn’t stop her from taking him into town to see if she can sell him. When the merchant refuses to give Rey a decent price for the droid, she decides to keep him (maybe to find another buyer).

While in town, Rey runs into Finn. She doesn’t trust him at first, but he manages to win her over at least temporarily when Stormtroopers spot the droid and come after them. Rey, Finn, and BB-8 escape to the shipyard and look for a suitable ship to get away in. They spot the Millennium Falcon but think it’s a piece of junk, choosing instead a much fancier ship. When that doesn’t work out (due to a security system or maybe the owner is aboard?) they return to the Falcon and Rey pilots them out of there.

While Rey and Finn banter back and forth, TIE Fighters begin pursuing them. Rey sends Finn to man the gun turrets, but he has no idea how to fire them. The TIEs fire at them and Rey yells at Finn, “Aren’t you going to answer back?!” To save their hides, Rey comes up with a daring plan and flies into the wreck of the Star Destroyer she’s been scavenging. An intense chase takes place inside the ship and the heroes finally lose their pursuers and escape into space.

    Act Two

I’m sure the villains do something here to try and locate the Millennium Falcon. Meanwhile, Queen Leia meets with her top counsellors (maybe about the missing Poe Dameron?). Whatever happens here, Leia ends up sending her special agent, Korr Sella, on a secret mission to the Green Planet (maybe that was the planned rendezvous point for Poe after retrieving the lightsaber, or maybe they discover the Empire is about to aim their new super-weapon at the planet and Korr Sella is sent to warn them. Who knows).

After escaping the Sand Planet, the Millennium Falcon is “swallowed” up by a large freighter. Inside is a large bay with automated droids carrying cargo crates around. Also aboard the ship are Han Solo and Chewbacca, apparently there to make a deal for some alien livestock they were smuggling (?). Han takes Rey and Finn aboard the Falcon and tells them he wants them off the ship. He doesn’t like something about Finn, but the former Stormtrooper manages to talk Han into reconsidering. Something happens with the Falcon’s chessboard and Han hears a noise outside. He checks a video monitor and – oh, crap! This is what Han had feared. Pirates have come aboard the ship!

Han hides Finn and Rey in the cargo hold while he goes outside to confront the pirates. Apparently, the pirates are unhappy about a deal they had made with him. Han tries to negotiate and fails, leading to a fight breaking out. Rey pulls a fuse from the Falcon and somehow it causes a distraction that helps Han and Chewie out. The alien livestock get lose and Finn gets caught up and dragged away by them. Rey has to save him. As the fight goes on between the pirates and the smugglers, Chewie’s arm is injured. Finn runs to the Wookie’s aid, impressing Han. Rey takes on the entire gang of pirates and manages to defeat them with her skills. Han, Chewie, Rey, Finn, and BB-8 all climb aboard the Falcon and prepare to escape, but the ship won’t start. Rey impresses Han by fixing the problem and they fly out of the freighter’s hold, alien livestock splattering against the windshield on the way out.

After their escape, BB-8 shows the others the hidden lightsaber. This somehow leads to them flying the Falcon to the Green Planet to find Rose. When they get there, they find her pub and go inside. A surely alien gets grabby with Rey and Chewie rips his arm off!!! Rose turns out to be a small, blue alien who owns the pub and she leads the crew down into a dark basement. They all join hands and she shows them a vision of the past…

In the vision, we see Luke Skywalker returning to the (Jedi?) Academy to find dead bodies all over the place. R2-D2 watches sadly as Luke leaves.
Then we see the journey of the lightsaber, as it falls to the savannah planet and is retrieved by Naka, whom we saw reaching for the sword at the start of the film. Either Naka or some peasant takes the lightsaber to his hovel and ignites it, accidently causing a fire. He panics and runs, but returns soon after to get the weapon. It ends up in the hands of a trader, who trades it to The Vicar.

The scene then shifts to the night the Academy was attacked by The Seven. The young padawans use the lightsaber during the battle but are defeated. Not sure how this all plays out, but perhaps Kylo Ren and Rey are both young students at the Academy. Maybe Kylo betrayed them and allowed the Seven to attack or he is taken by them after they kill the others. Either way, it appears that Rose was a teacher at the school and she managed to escape with young Rey and get her to safety. She may have also taken the lightsaber (maybe it was Rey’s lightsaber if she was a Jedi in training) and somehow it was lost in space after that. Or maybe she took it to Luke and somehow he was responsible for it ending up in space. I dunno, this part probably won’t make sense until we have some dialogue to explain things.

Rose ignites the lightsaber (it’s blue-bladed) and Finn is attracted to it while Rey is revolted by it. Whatever is revealed in the vision causes Rey to run out of the pub and into the jungle. Rose says she understands why the lightsaber “came to Rey”. BB-8 finds Rey in the jungle. The others realize Rey and the droid are gone and Han goes looking for her. At some point during this part of the film, Korr Sella arrives at either the pub or the castle nearby on her mission from Leia.

Meanwhile, the Imperials have tracked the heroes down and plan to launch their new weapon against them. The Catapult weapon apparently has two parts to it. A “base” on a Snow Planet that is inside some kind of Evil Castle that sends a charge of energy up to a platform of some kind. The platform then flies to wherever they want it to and fires. This happens as Rey is watching from the jungle. She sees the pub and castle destroyed by the super-weapon, killing Korr Sella and presumably many others. Kylo Ren arrives flanked by Stormtroopers (possibly Chrometroopers?). Rose helps Han and the others escape by defeating the troopers with her “powers.” Not sure if Kylo Ren confronts Rey at this point or not. She either escapes or is captured. At some point Kylo interrogates Rey, I think, so it might be at this point, I don’t know. Either way, the Stormtroopers search the jungle for her and some of them are attacked by giant, muli-tentacled creatures. Han Solo and Chewie emerge from the ruins and do battle with more Stormtroopers.

All seems lost until Poe Dameron shows up and saves the day in the stolen TIE Fighter. The Imperials leave (either with or without Rey) and Queen Leia arrives with C-3PO to investigate Korr Sella’s death. This leads to an awkward reunion with Han Solo.

The Falcon delivers our heroes to the Rebel Base. Leia takes the lightsaber and leads the others to the map room, where she reveals her secret weapon to fight back against the Empire. Called the Sledgehammer, it’s some kind of Kamikaze-type ship that smashes other ships by ramming them. She’s apparently quite proud of this weapon. Leia wants to know everything Finn can tell her, presumably about the Empire. It sounds like she doesn’t really trust Finn, but Rose talks to her and convinces her that she should give the lightsaber to him. Rose knows that the lightsaber will pass to Rey when the time is right. Leia agrees and gives the lightsaber to Finn.

Something about the lightsaber is important. Maybe the kyber crystal inside? Whatever secret it contains, it apparently is a coded map to the location of Luke Skywalker and Leia sets C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 about decoding it.

Not sure about this part, but I think the Rebel base is attacked because at some point Leia tells Poe that his squadron is the only one that survived. Poe is angry and wants to attack the Empire, but Leia orders him not to and he reluctantly agrees to stand down. I don’t know if that happens here or later in the film. Either way, the heroes devise a plan to take down the super-weapon. They will attack both the Evil Castle and the platform in space. Han will lead a team to sneak into the castle and blow it up. He tells Leia, “I’ll hurry back.”

    Act Three

I’m not real clear on the order of events from this point on, but I’ll give it a try. Han and his team go to the Snow Planet to take down a shield generator and blow up the castle. When their access codes don’t work, Han has to convince Finn to use the lightsaber to destroy the device. With the castle unshielded, they sneak inside. After navigating through some kind of shaft with a large fan, they begin setting explosive charges around the place. If Rey was captured earlier, I would assume she would be rescued during this part of the film. One way or the other, she ends up with Finn, Chewie, and BB-8 as they attempt to bring down the castle.

Meanwhile, Poe Dameron leads the rebel forces (with his snazzy black X-Wing, I assume) against the super-weapon. Kylo Ren, his master “Uber” and the Imperial General are planning to fire the weapon at the rebels, but Kylo finds out that Han Solo is with them and wants to confront him personally. Although Uber tells him not to “be so sentimental,” he goes after Han. Kylo apparently has some kind of personal hatred for Han. He arrives at the castle and Han manages to hide from him. However, Han realizes his friends won’t be able to escape the madman and he decides to reveal himself to give them time to get away. Kylo kills Han in front of the others and Chewie roars, running after Kylo and firing his weapon. Back at the rebel base, Leia feels a disturbance in the Force as Han is struck down. Rey and Finn fight their way down the mountain while Chewie and BB-8 escape in the Falcon.

Kylo Ren pursues Finn and Rey. Finn decides to fight him with the lightsaber but is no match for Kylo. Injured and on the ground, Finn tosses the lightsaber to Rey, who takes it in hand for the first time – her destiny finally fulfilled. She battles Kylo Ren and manages to get her and Finn to the Falcon so they can escape.

The super-weapon is pointed at the rebels, who launch their Sledgehammer ship. Imperial technicians run away in fear as the ship approaches, but the General grabs the controls personally to fire the device. The Sledgehammer collides with the platform and explodes, I assume.

With both the Evil Castle and the super-weapon destroyed, the heroes return to the rebel base in victory. The droids have finished decoding the map and have the location of Luke Skywalker. Rey stops by the medical bay to say a special goodbye to Finn and then is bid a “fond farewell” from Leia. She boards the Falcon with BB-8 and Chewbacca, who playfully messes up her hair, as if to say “things will be okay.” She has a family now, and a mission.
The Falcon arrives on a new planet. Rey ascends a set of stone steps and is greeted at the top by a hooded figure. She hands him the lightsaber. He pulls back his hood to reveal the bearded face of Luke Skywalker…

Hopefully, I didn't make too many mistakes in there. If Jason comes back, maybe he can let us know if this is accurate.

Reading this MSW version of the movie makes my brain hurt. I cant even read the whole thing its just frustrating.
In the words of @rebelscum what happened to Poe. The tie fighter is damaged in the escape but somehow shows up later in the tie fighter? this will be a long nine months

Agreed. There's too many things I think MSW has wrong. It seems like a lot of planet hopping. I'm really hoping for a twist, like Rey is Han's daughter and is secretly a Jedi hiding out on the desert planet trying to get a line on where Luke is. It would be awesome if Han, Rey and the gang have been searching for him for years and this is the culmination of their search. That's why the Falcon is with Rey and Han is in orbit trying to get info from pirates.

Well the glaring thing I am seeing is that people are assuming that the recent rumors defy any and all previous rumors not go along with some previous rumors. Point being all that talk we have seen about Rey and Finn do not destroy the previous rumors of Poe's crashed X-wing towed by a giant pig by Rey. Remember BB-8 the droid with the sabre which holds the clue starts as Poe's.

Thanks for putting this together. I can't say it makes any sense whatsoever, but I really appreciate the time and effort.
And NOW we know what happens to Poe... aka: X-wing/TIE Fighter fighting ace.

Rey repairs it before she learns to pilot the MF -- it 's in the scene before the IMAX chase inside the crashed star destroyer.

I commend Darth Goofy's efforts because that is close to summarizing the most recent rumors.
However, I continue to dislike the msw rumors. It does not make them untrue but I hope there are some serious mistakes or significant gaps because I hate the sound of that movie.
I know it is a few paragraphs explaining the entire movie but I could care less about the new characters from the feel of this.
It's almost like JJ took everything I would not want to happen to the Big 3 and tosses in characters I could care less about.
Obviously character development will play out differently on the big screen and all I have read is some text in forums and on webpages.

Things I hate, Han and Leia estranged, Mark Hamill's Luke having only one scene, a different actor playing Luke in a flashback that takes place shortly after RotJ, a lightsaber with a hidden message, Han, Luke and Leia not getting a single shot together in EVII and no evidence for Skywalker offspring. All of these combine to make this a pretty terrible movie and I saw the OT in the theaters back in the 70's and 80's and camped out for the PT. I just assume they had left out the OT cast entirely if all those rumors are true and have left their stories be explained by other authors in the rebooted novels, comics, etc that are now canon.

Other then the flashback vision I have yet to see any evidence of the "force awakening." It seems that the CW series and Rebels series will have done more to expand on the mythology and power of the force then this movie.

I realize that things can get flushed out and there can be big reveals in the later Episodes but I don't like the feel of these TFA rumors.

Sorry for such a negative post but I am feeling frustrated with these rumors.

I think the force awakening is referring to Rey. Throughout the film she runs away from her past and refuses to come to her calling as a Jedi (like when she is disgusted by the saber in Rose's pub), but finally realizes her potential when she takes on Kylo Ren in order to save Finn.

And by the way, this trilogy is about the new characters ;)

Also, Rey's arc is kind of similar to Han's in ANH. He's kind of a loner, and gets involved in something much bigger then he realizes. When he is requested to help the Rebels attack the Death Star, he refuses. (Kind of like Rey rejecting the lightsaber?) But in the end he does what's right, saving his friend in the process. Like father like daughter?

At first I have to write that I appreciate your enthusiasm and the effort you put in your post of creating a plausible synopsis based on Jason Wards late rumors.
Sorry If I take your post out of context, but everyone is trying to escape and Chewbacca is going to attack?
This scene just mirrors too much A New Hope.
I bet 100$ that this scene will not be in the movie, not in this way.

There is no screen time of Luke and Han together in your synopsis.
I think that Disney will show us the big 3 together at least for a short reunion scene, but I admit they will mix alot the OT cast and the new cast together.
To give us a familar and fresh feeling at once.
Mabye old people look less old with younger ones on the screen together.
This is not a Insult just a guess which route JJ&Co. will go.

By the way I have the strange feeling that Luke Skywalker will not be a Jedi Knight in beginning of the movie, maybe he left the religion for personal reasons.
He will become a Jedi again in the end of the movie when he overcomes his doubts.
Luke will start (again?) to teach new pupils and accept his role as their mentor.

I can totally see Luke saying this kind of stuff to his pupils (rey/finn) like Ben Kenobi did to him.

Maybe it's a not so bad idea to borrow some material from A New Hope.
Just to remind us all, this movie invented the word "Blockbuster"
Not a wrong idea in my modest opinion to create a movie in the spirit of Ep.IV (feeling and experience)

I feel the same way as you do.
The story-arc of the movie sounds bland and it feels like a generic shoehorned disaster.
If this is the outcome at the 18th dec. good night and hello to rotten tomatoes here we go.
Like Mark Hamill recently in a interview, that the people should go to see the summer movies and should not wait for a second coming of...
This man has inside knowledge, he knows what he is talking about!
It would be great if I misunderstood his hint.
I just hope that the folks involveld in the movie know what they are doing.
They have the OT cast, interesting new cast, Ben Burtt, John Williams, Lawrence Kasdan, J.J. Abrams, a huge bugdet, real locations and props.
From the distance it looks like Disney is playing it safe and is not rushing it the production.
This ingredients sound like pure Gold.
Sorry MSW, but I would like to see that you guys gets feeded with disinformation or the first rough draft from the Arndt script.
I will stay optimistic, I just have to read the list about the people who are involed everytime I get sceptic.

Didn't Jason even say at one point that some staff think that this film sounded like a remake of ANH then back tracked? Maybe one of these people could of been Mark? Mark is to much of gent to have a go so the best way is to calm people down by not getting people's hopes up?

I know am contriving a situation here that is probably make believe, yet I agree I think there was a degree of honesty in what Mark was saying.

I heard the same stuff too, but I think there were just too much rumors and contradiction in the last two weeks, my brain can't take it anymore.
Whatever they wanted to intend they succeeded, the disinformation campaign is at full throttle or not?

I have the same belief about Mark Hamill, he seems to be a really nice and honest person, that makes it really easy to like him.
Never a bad word, always huge respect for his colleagues and other peoples work and he never flees a interview.
I'am really glad that he was my childhood hero back then, a good decision when I look back as a adult now. (this guy deserved it, as it seems "nowadays")

I was wondering about the giant pig creatures, too. I know they built them. The salvage scene with Rey trying to tow the X-Wing might still be in the movie, it just hasn't come up in the recent MSW info. Plus I'd love to know more about the villains. I really couldn't include much about them because we haven't heard very much. I don't even know where the quote from the trailer fits in LOL.

I presume it was some email from some person he received.

The person here that I tracked and recorded for months (not Mizzlewump) had this to say last July about the notion: "concerns have some merit" that it would be like Prometheus (Noomi Rapace) and The Thing (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) were to their original starting material for those franchises.
