But, I dont think that they just copy paste the whole plot of this comic series. And is there the original cast in it?

I just read through the comics and no the original cast is not in the Star Wars Legacy Vol 2 comic. It is set 100 some odd years after Return of the Jedi

Eek... "Gotta bad feeling about this."

Just read up on The Legacy comics, Volume 1 and 2 in particular..

So, either this is a masterful troll by The Misery Box Ninjas (tm) or we will be getting a version of those comics, certain things tweaked here and there but lots of similar elements.

After Ania, one of the things that struck me as familiar involves the main Sith villain in that Legacy tale.

Long story short, he stumbles upon the Sith homeworld, and the spirit of one of the long dead original Sith finds him worthy... he learns the dark arts via holocron.

The guy is Driver, and the original Sith is... drumroll... Lupita Nyong'o. Check out this grab from one of the comics:

    image.jpg

P.S. 'Those responsible for the sabotage were in fact a new Sith Order, which had been secretly building up its strength on the planet Korriban for over one hundred years. Two years into what would become known as the Sith–Imperial War, the Sith, and their leader, Darth Krayt, would reveal themselves to the galaxy and join the war on the Empire’s side.'

P.P.S. 'Despite the uproar its announcement caused in 2006, it (Legacy comic line) has since gone on to become one of the most well-received and popular Expanded Universe works of all time, as well as one of Dark Horse's best-selling comic series.'

Actually I just realized I forgot there is a cameo of han and chewie in a holocron in Legacy vol 2, but it's only just a nod...of their historical existence not a story element or plot point

If we're getting technical.....Genetically, her dark hair and eyes would have to come from her mother if Luke is her father, since Luke has recessive genes (blond, blue eyes) and wouldn't be able to pass on the dark hair color and eyes of his mother, Padme.

also, are Star Wars humans even humans, like can we say for certain that their biology is in any way reminiscent of our own earthly biologies.

yeah probably... Just dont feel like something they would make weird or change.

That's a good point. Don't people speculate that Gleeson looks like Obi-Wan and Luke? We, on earth, are actually developing the technology that the sperm of two different men can be combined in developing a child. Who knows what the science is in a galaxy far, far away?

Wow! This thread took off fast in 24 hours. anyway, I agree with you that I doubt Ridley is playing a Solo or Skywalker at this point, based on some of the facets you detailed.

I wonder if even Solo has kids -- doubt Driver as well -- which means that we may not see offspring of Solo or Skywalker. I would be highly doubtful that IF they (Big 3) had offspring that they would be relegated to background or secondary characters because 1) Name and 2) Force ability.

But I'm open to all ideas, don't have my heart set on any one rumor or theory and am extremely optimistic that E7 will ROCK!

    No they don't end there...
Female main role even if you don't believe she's a Solo or skywalker,

Junkyard/Scrapyard owner or scavenger on backwater planet.

Lightsaber of legendary Jedi (Imperial) Knight found.

The group make-up seems to be the same, Female lead, dark skin human, small robot and an alien...

    This picture of villians:

I don't know if she is or not, but, we shall see...

Anakin Skywalker was to become a Legend, and he lived in slaves quarters as a child. Luke was an Orphan, and a child of Legends (Anakin and Padme), and he lived in a hole in the ground.

Sounds too much like Ezra, hope they can do better.

We actually never found out why Luke wasn't with his mother in the OT, it took the 3rd film of the prequels to find out...

    I agree with you there.

You're right, it doesn't have to be, but, at the same time it doesn't, not, have to be either...

Or his source has been tricked.... or is the tricker....

Great snooping, everyone. Looking at all these images and the similarities to what we (think we) know about the film, I find it very hard to believe this some sort of huge coincidence. I think it comes down to two potential situations at this point:

    A. They borrowed elements, and more than a couple, from this comic book and have integrated them with other ideas for the sequel trilogy.
    B. JJ and his Mystery Box team are like 1,000 steps ahead of us and this just another example of us being bamboozled.

God, this feels like such a lose-lose situation. I want the plot of the new movie so badly to be original, but what we've pieced together so far sounds excellent, and I just can't believe that JJ and Kasdan would turn around and adapt a comic book storyline. I'm hoping this is all misdirection, which would be quite a coup on Bad Robot's part. But I feel like it would be TOO MUCH of a coup at this point, with all the reliable sources chiming in. At the very least, I remain convinced of Luke's part in the movie. If he just turned out to be the new headmaster of a crappy Jedi Temple for the past thirty years, I'd be annoyed. Splitting up the golden trio is the smartest thing I've heard so far.

You know, they might not have taken the story from the comic atall, its entirely possible they just liked the characters and lifted them and the character dynamic...and maybe some of the visuals. I dont think there is anything necessarily wrong with that.

I am fairly certain luke hasnt been missing the full thirty years though, he probably trained a handful of jedi and took off to be a hermit.

To be fair, that sounds like the plot of around 50% of Dark Horse's Star Wars comics...

But is that 50% cannon or just mortar shells? I kid.

As trite and recycled as it may be, we've yet to see it on film... so it's possible.

And george lucas and spielberg also lifted some inspiration from duck tales comics... and it helped inspire what would become anime...

Duck Tales is weirdly influential like that.
