Mind blown. Thanks! Also worth clicking the link just for the first comment.

I wonder where Nolan got inspiration for Interstellar? Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers?

Seriously though, I think this just proves how difficult it is to create an original premise. Literally everything has been done before, so it's really all about technique and execution.

It would be odd for Disney to have to give credit to dark horse comics if the story is being used. I say odd because of the marvel thing and having to pay dark horse. They bought Lucas but dark horse still owns those stories. Lucas licensed the Star Wars name to them. Just like Disney had to pay 20th century for the OT and PT. I haven't seen the contract with dark horse or Disney but I bet dark horse gets paid If they use the story. Further how pissed would marvel be to see story based on a dark horse comic in the credits?

Again I think we have been had.

Other than Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir whatever Marvel puts out would be canon. I am surprised that Son of Dathomir is the only Dark Horse comic considered canon.

Yep... that's why I suggest revisiting whatever theories were being tossed around PRIOR to the MF.com "leak."

    We were probably closer then.

I'm not talking about cannon and none cannon. If you use someone else's work you have to pay them for it and give them credit for it as well. Novel and comics that become movies are purchased (unless already owned by movie house). All works that don't come from your own head have to be cited and if published in some way paid for or you get sued.

When the first rumors of Legacy 2 matching with Episode VII hit I went to the dark horse sight and bought the series to see for myself. At the time there was rumors of a Mon Calimari in the movie, but I've heard nothing of that since. I liked the book series but expect The Force Awakens to be a much better story.

Legacy is one of the Star Wars series i hated in CONCEPT but I loved the execution. I hated how much of a retread the idea was from the original Star Wars movies, but the writing and characters were all so neat.

If all they save from Legacy series is the characters, I would be an extreeemely happy man.

It should be noted that rumors of Mon Cal in the films... is intersting because Mon Cal was the subject of genocide and a lot of stories in the Legacy comics...

    *Takes a huge step back*

So we are saying Disney/Lucas/Arndt/JJA lifted the plot of a comic series, wholesale, and lazily crafted one of the most anticipated movies ever from it.
Then someone working on an unrelated Star Wars cartoon took the release date of one of the comics in that series, put it on a display screen alongside some Star Wars language for a couple of seconds, in the hope that: A) Someone would notice the date, read some significance into and do a search on Google; B) That the search would lead them to the release date of this comic, and they would in turn consider that significant; and C) That, by the time this cartoon aired, the significance would be, specifically, that the plot of this comic matched what people were presuming was the plot of Episode VII at that point in time...
All so that we could see what lazy b******s the filmmakers had been in the first place?

    Why?

Based on some of the rumors -- Billie Lourde being Leia's daughter -- that could be a possibility. I think it would be rather sad if Han and Leia didn't last in the years post ROTJ.

They were thrown together from different worlds... after the fall of the Empire, she will be more obligated to the political realities, and while Han is adaptive, I am not sure how life in a palace would suit him...

It would be an interesting position for the Alliance... Luke gone and presumed dead, Han and Leia still in love but with emotional issues that are keeping them apart...

So basically Venkman and Dana from Ghostbusters? The sequel opens with her having a baby with someone else.
