OFFICIAL NEWS TEASER COMING 11/28/14 (BLACK FRIDAY) to Select Theaters

There is no teaser attached to Mockingjay. I live in Seattle, we got the US release a day early and although I have not seen the film personally, I am sure everyone would have heard about the teaser by now had it been attached. There have already been midnight screenings elsewhere to confirm this.

 

I kind of feel like poor Ralphie when he asks Santa for the Daisy Red Ryder, only to be told-
"Kid, you'll shoot your eye out", and ends up being kicked down the slide to utter defeat.

Ah, it's all good fun!

But all jokes aside, Dec 25th is my fallback date, followed by New Years.

 

Another possibility would be on ABC, December 7th, between 8:00 and 8:30.

 

What's on Dec 7 between those times?

 

The premiere of Toy Story XMAS special.

I still think it will be a web first...

 

Multimedia... we will see it in several venues (theater, web, poster) at the same time

You wonder why there were multiple descriptions? It'll hit the web... but what hits the web wont be what hits the theaters... it'll just be what drives them to the theaters to buy tickets...

And for the ticket sales to matter, it'll be something that profits Disney...

I don't think we are getting a trailer until May. There was just as much interest for TPM and no teaser just the trailer at the end of November, 6 months prior to the release of the movie. It was the same for AOTC and ROTS. We may get footage at Star Wars Celebration in April but no teaser.

 

Times is changin' my friend lol. There are WAY different people at the helm now.

 

I promise you, you are and will. This year, have faith the wait wont be a long one.

I hope to God you are right. However, KK has been with Lucas Film for a very long time.

It does appear the first Star Trek teaser was released 16 mos prior to the movies release. It only showed the Enterprise being built and a brief voice over by Spock.

 

You mean Kathleen Kennedy? She's a relatively new arrival at Lucasfilm.

 

You are right. I'm sorry I meant she has worked with as she was a producer on Indian Jones movies.

 

While it was over two minutes long, the trailer that was release the November before for TPM is listed on the official Star Wars site as a teaser.

I read that the movie release was pushed back from December till May for the Star Trek reboot after the teaser had already been released because they realized it could do a lot better at the box office with a May release. I think part of it was they realized that it could appeal to a larger demographic than they originally thought. So, at the time it was only about 10 months prior. Still longer than what was common for the PT, so something released this year for TFA isn't unreasonable.
