OFFICIAL NEWS TEASER COMING 11/28/14 (BLACK FRIDAY) to Select Theaters

These latest rumors are about the only thing that will get me into a movie theater for the rest of 2014 at least.

 

I tend to disagree with the idea that the web and movie releases will be different.

However I think you are spot on that there will be multiple venues to see the teaser. I think they will line up the youtube release with the first screening session of the movie they have attached the trailer to. I don't think they want the hassle of copyright claiming X numbers of smartphone recordings from cinemas. Plus i doubt they want bad smartphone footage representing their product. If i was a betting man I'd say 1 hour after the teaser is shown in a movie/TV show, a full 1080p version will be on the star wars youtube channel.

 

I hope that other countrys will be able to see the teaser in the cinema too soon!

Thats because it will be released online on Thursday.

It would be interesting if the TFA teaser is released on Thanksgiving since that's the same day as the Jurassic World teaser.

 

You know, we thought Big Hero 6 was out of the running because it was already released, but if they are going with a limited number of theaters all weekend long, every movie that shows, and Big Hero 6 has to have the earliest start time each of those days, it ends up being what it premiers with. And it would still show with Mockingjay, and it could be attached to the Hobbit when that comes out as well. Or maybe a second teaser is released with the Hobbit. Certainly would fit with all the seemingly contradictory rumors we have heard so far.

 

The problem is it would only be 100 theaters nationwide. Even if it is all the movies in those theaters, the number of people you reach is going to be significantly less then if you attach it to just one movie that is in most theaters across the country. The concept sounds big but it really is not. For example, the number of people who will watch The Mockingjay across the country on Saturday will be a lot more than all the moviegoers in say the 100 largest theaters in the country on the same day

I wonder if the leak of the Avengers 2 trailer online will affect how they approach this teaser.

 

I think that the ep7 teaser trailer will be attached to ep8.

 

I agree. Also the folks buying a ticket to The Hobbit ONLY to see the Star Wars trailer would be going to see The Force Awakens anyway. Just from a marketing standpoint that makes no sense. I think getting it in front of crowds that don't keep up with this stuff so they leave saying "Man! A new Star Wars movie! Cool!" would be the better overall strategy.

The entire world pretty much knows this thing is a thing so the trailer is really intended to whip up the base. Consider this base 'whipped'.

With one film a year for the foreseeable future (and honestly, how cool is THAT) I'm pretty sure the first trailer for the first spinoff will be hooked to the first movie of the third trilogy. Then each year we get a new movie AND trailer.

 

Who is this guy? What movie is that? Why has no one talked about this? Is this just a publicity stunt to go see some movie?

 

It's a documentary that's gotten a lot of buzz about an actress that was on the Wire. She's raising her kids now but still trying to navigate the biz, get auditions, etc.

 

I find it interesting that Remi did a Star Wars video today. It already has 500,000 + views and has me thinking...
Maybe there will be a viral Star Wars video everyday on Youtube to hype up Star Wars for a trailer release. Most likely the trailer will debut on Youtube because they're the only place that would have servers that could handle the traffic. Also the prank video had some really expensive props and costumes. I'm just speculating here but we'll see if there is a new video tomorrow.

I would agree with that. It was released earlier this year but just now has gotten buzz closer to award season. It could be getting a re-release here (US) or released elsewhere outside of the US. I know I just read an article about it this past week and I want to see it.

Or i guess people on twitter could be lying again hahahaha
