Same way why Budist monks and Catholic priests are in celibate.

As for Padme, controversy was not a sex, or love for her as an senator. Controversy was a sex with a jedi, romantic relationship with a jedi.

Equivalent of that in real life would be like Hillary Clinton having romantic relationship, sex with Catholic Pope. That would be a huge controversy.

In my opinion this rule is very much illogical.

Jedi form a lot of close, strong relationship with people in and outside the order.
The most natural is parent - child like bond of master and apprentice. Then goes friendship, and even love (the kind of love that occurs between siblings). Anakin affection towards Padme was well known, but no one do anything about it cause intimate side of this relationship was held in secret by Anakin and Padme.

What I'm trying to say is, you don't have to be related by blood, to have very strong, positive feelings towards other people. Feelings that create attachments. Obi Wan avowedly opposed Council, due to his attachment towards Qui Gon, Anakin many times broke the rules for Ahsoka, Obi Wan, Padme, pretty much anyone he hold dear. Fisto's padawan Nahdar died because he lost himself in pursuit of his former master appreciation etc.

    Incomprehensible lack of consistency

Jedi Council have nothing against those kind of attachments, and only condemns the intimate ones instead of teaching young students how to draw power from them, and teach them how to reconcile with eventual loss of loved one.

Isn't spoiler and ESP suggestive of the same outcome of Mrs. Solo?

Parent - child like bond of master and apprentice is inside not outside of Jedi order. Jedi were encourage to be fond toward all people in the universe. Because they are protectors of these people. They can have friends, but romantic relationship is the strongest and most emotional.

On the case of Anakin and Padme we saw why Jedi had that rule. Anakin become a Sith because of his romantic relationship with Padme.
It seems that Jedi in the past had similar problems to.

As for Luke. We do not know really the shape of the Galaxy in ST. Maybe Darth Sidious killed almost all force sensitive people in the Galaxy so jedi are forced to have childrens in ST.

Or Luke give up on being a Jedi. Had a wife and daughter Rey.

Or he simply created new jedi order with different rules.

As I said before, strong bonds are created inside, and outside of the order. It doesn't really matters where, what matters is that they are strong bonds indeed. Bonds, that create problems (as I pointed out earlier [Qui Gon - Obi Wan, Kit Fisto - Nahdar Vebb, Ahsoka - Anakin]).

Fragment where you refer to romantic love as the strongest one is where I fundamentally disagree with you. Friendship, siblings like love, need of acknowledgement from your master, all those kind of attachment can be as strong if not stronger than romantic one (depending on context). People can make great, and horrible thing in name of all mentioned feelings.

Indeed, romantic feelings can be problematic, as much as any other mentioned above.

I don't see Luke giving up been a Jedi, that would not make any sense. Am not sure he would sleep around, am not sure he knows how to handle the ladies either. Not that he does not like them I just think that kind of thing would not be on his agenda, his companion is the force and this is what he practiced.

My first response to the idea of Rey having amnesia was, oh how lame..and for some reason, how 5th Element?!! (No sure why..)

But thinking about it, it's quite a clever idea: the viewers/fans want to know what's been going on in TGFFA for the last 30 years, so having us discover that along with a character who also wants to remember is quite clever. It could work really well. :)

    MTFBWY....

    Not a fan of amnesia.

Harrison Ford's character in (Writer: J.J. Abrams) Regarding Henry is given amnesia after being shot in the head early in the movie.

I felt the same way, but it is the way it will possibly be done that makes it less cliche for me.
Force induced for a purpose rather than an accident, and possibly more of a false memory implant than "who am I?"

Where is this? Not sure about any actual revelation. If he was talking about kissing his sister messing him up, then I assumed that he was joking. Still do.
Regarding this, Carrie probably inadvertently spoiled something and wrote these posts to cover it up. Just my theory. However, she may not have.

Maybe Luke never saw the Prequels and didn't know about the rules.

Anyone who still doesn't think she's a skywalker should take a closer look at the parallels being drawn by the marketing (what little bit there is so far).

Luke did find out about the Jedi rules in one of those new canon books. Basically some like told him he was probably illegitimate if his dad was a Jedi, but Luke thinks the whole rule is pretty dumb if I recall.. Also the old Jedi are all dead so what are they gonna do if he changes the rules.

I'm now moving over to the Rey Skywalker theory because of things I've read on the internet that sound plausible to me. It doesn't mean I want it that way, but that's what I'm thinking now.

Rey ( Kira ) Skywalkers sounds waaaaaaaaaaay better in my opinion.

Jacen i Jaina Solo are EU, now legends. It seems that people are still convinced that SW 7 will copy EU stories.

I don't really mind either way as long as her backstory of how she ended up on Jakku can be explained simply and without a bunch of mental gymnastics. Solo certainly makes sense if you're looking at TFA as a direct sequel to ROTJ, without much of consequence in between. Although for me personally, that makes the OT generation feel a bit claustrophobic and insulated, and just lacking surprise. If she's Skywalker, I'd at least be very curious about who her mother is and kinda like well at least the OT characters weren't just hanging out with 2 other people, plus Lando, a wookie and 2 droids this whole time.
