I don't think I've ever insulted you.

Again its not an "in-universe we need to find a relative who didn't exist before" or "he isn't really part of the family". Its a "we are making the Skywalker Saga" we need someone with that name in it. Its really not that hard.

We only did find out 1 last name, Rey. Ben is Solo. Poe is Dameron. And Finn never had a name until Poe gave him one.

Or you could realize that you've tried and failed twice with in and of itself proves that "Ben isn't part of the family" isn't what I've ever said or meant and admit you were lying.

 

@Canadian Ronin my thing is I see blood before a name, so to me Ben is the Skywalker of the new generation. That's all.

 

It isnt an argument. Everyone saw the last 7 movies where Padme had Leia and Luke and then Leia married Han and had Ben. If you are an even casual star wars fan you know that! You are saying ..."No the small amount of people are those who will follows all the ins and out of the family to track a family tree" That is what you said about Ben being the Skywalker of the trilogy. People wont follow unless they know the in's and outs and track his family tree. Theres nothing to argue. Maybe you changed your mind in the last few days somehow idk but thats what YOU said.

Great. We aren't talking about actual family, but making, selling, marketing a film series.

You wouldn't make a movie, call it "hatfield vs McCoy: Blood Feud" and have it be about Emanuel Wilson and Simon Buckner - they both a part of the feud but it makes no sense to call the move Hatfield vs McCoy and not include any of the titular characters.

When exactly did you get Ben's name, other than Kylo Ren? You got his lineage. Not his name my children bear my last name which is that of my father and my husbands last name. Plus...a question...a few actually...were Han and Leia actually ever married? What is Leia's last name? When did Luke change his name to Skywalker? I doubt registry office at Dantooine would allow uncle Ben and his wife to have a baby with a different last name than they have? What is the name rule changing in galaxy far far away?

Or the titular names in the documents perhaps dont matter in the stories about heroes?

Rey is not a Solo/Skywalker unless JJ lied when he said that leia and her never met.
Poe is not main charachter of ST.
I stand corrected about Finn. We dont know neither his first nor last name.

If you are a Star Wars fan and you cant grasp that Kylo is Leia (A Skywalker made clear in the OT and PT AND ST) and Han's son you have some serious comprehension issues.

I replied saying no one has trouble interrupting that Ben is a Skywalker so YES he CAN BE this trilogies family member.

QED ....YOU CALLED YOUR OWN ARGUMENT A STRAWMAN ARGUMENT. You are saying it here and you have said it on the "Is Luke Rey's father" thread. I'm starting to think maybe English isn't your first language??

 

We don't know that she didn't say anything to her, though. After their hug, it cuts to a different scene. Perhaps Leia said something to Rey after the embrace, or perhaps she is keeping quiet in order to protect her. (If Rey found her mother in Leia, why would she want to train to be a Jedi? There would be a sort of emotional attachment that could ultimately hurt her in the end.)

I really don't know about the whole mind-wiping thing, I mean... I don't even know how that would work. (Is there anything in the new Star Wars canon that even makes wiping someone's mind with the Force possible?) Perhaps it was simply that she lost the memory of Rey, meaning that she didn't completely lose her memories from that timeframe, but Rey was completely absent from them.

I feel like Kylo Ren could be suspicious of who she is. Even if he doesn't know, hasn't he seen her in visions? I'm not saying he definitely knows she's related to him, but I think he has some suspicions, especially after the lightsaber gravitated to Rey during their fight on Starkiller Base.

Again, it's possible Leia's mind was wiped, and it's also possible that she left her in the hands of someone she could trust and that person later died or left Rey for her own safety or something. I don't know.

Like I've said before, I really wanted Rey to be a Solo for a long time and now I'm pretty confident she's Luke's daughter, but I also don't think the idea of Rey being a Solo can be dismissed just yet.

 

Luke Skywalker was important in Star Wars (1977) because of who his Jedi father was. Forget V, forget VI, and forget father Vader. It was a bloodline story. Anyone who says different is wrong or and/or gaslighting.

The new books are thematically linked to The Last Jedi, claims Michael Siglain. They don't put movie spoilers into the books he said, before TFA came out.

And I'd already noticed some thematic links between what's going on with Ahsoka/Ashla in the Ahsoka novel and the emphasis on Saw Gerrera's sister in Rebel Rising and the Star Wars Rebels TV show and what could be going on with Rey and Kylo Ren in the sequel trilogy.

 

and Kylo fills the bloodline theme/Skywalker saga requirement.

 

Han and Leia were married.
Leia's last name is Organa.
Luke didn't change his name, it was always Skywalker (which is absurd, but that's the PT for you).
Owen was Luke's uncle, he didn't need to share a name.
finally, Ben Solo is his official name ~ it was canonized in one of the books (i fergit which).
the children's book in particular comes to mind, but also probably Empire's End.

i'm only answering the questions for the sake of clarity; the argument over Ben's name is silly.
he's a Skywalker by blood, by temperament, and by everything else about him.

 

The real backstory of the Star Wars doesn't all come out in the first movie in a trilogy. Real fans ought to know that.
