The twist of this ST is that the whole saga is about garbage collectors.

    It makes so much sense.
Trash has been integral to Star Wars since day one.
Using the trash compactor to escape in ANH
Using the trash dropoff to escape in ESB
Jabba looks like he's made of trash bags in the ROTJ blu ray.
Using the trash compactor in TFA
    Finn worked in sanitation.
    The PT is actual trash.

It makes so much sense now. Like Lucas has been hitting us in the face with it.

I will make another thread with the real story behind the whole saga as I did with the real story behind TFA :D

What is Rey doing ? Just asking ...

    Scavenging ...

    Coincidence ? I think not.

overall the PT presented us with a much cleaner, more sterile view of the Star Wars universe. it's clear to me now that, the less trash in a Star Wars film, the worse the movie has to be to make up for it.

with this key correlation in mind, what have we got to look forward to in TLJ?

from the trailer we've seen, there appears to be a lot of trash generated during the explosion in the hangar: this bodes well!

Ahch-To seems to be a very clean, natural planet. it's likely these scenes will suck, unless the presence of the Millenium Falcon (the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy) is enough to make up for the environment. this may be why Rey inherited the ship at the end of TFA (Rian did ask for some changes!).

we know about the "casino" planet and the character "DJ." DJ seems like a rough and tumble sort of guy, and he certainly has a garbage name, so we'll likely really love this character.

Kylo Ren's helmet is made into garbage, as shown in the trailer: this too bodes well! he will have some amazing stuff happen with his character, no doubt.

the books in the trailer seem to be pretty ragged, so i have an optimistic outlook here.

the garbage ship that belly flops in the red soil in the trailer is an indicator that this sequence will be legit Star Wars.

Luke's Jedi temple being destroyed is another good trash opportunity.

lastly, i think it's important to note that Luke wants the Jedi to end, or in other words, be thrown away.

    can't wait to see TLJ!!

The closer we get to future movies, the more thematically I think they're lining elements up.

This article perfectly sums up why I don't want and why I don't think Rey is either Luke's or Leia's daughter.

The Lucasfilm story group people and Trevorrow really liked Wonder Woman, too. And that has
a reveal about that Ares is Diana's brother and that Ares is not General Ludendorff and that she - not the sword - is the Godkiller (only a god can kill another god). Ares tempts her to the dark side at the end of the movie.

I think some people misunderstand WW's ending. The point of the reveal that Diana is the Godslayer is that she, as a person, is capable of defeating Ares by herself and doesn't require any magical sword, that the power to do that has always been inside her. Sure, it is like that because she is a daughter of Zeus, but her origin by itself isn't the source of empowerment.

I'm not keen on Rey being Luke's daughter. She doesn't need to be to stay relevant to the story just as Luke doesn't need a child to make him more important to the story. I mean, he's already a freaking Jedi and Skywalker heir.

Everyone likes to throw around Kathleen Kennedy saying it's a Skywalker "family saga," therefore Rey must be a Skywalker. But, TFA is still very much about a Skywalker, the entire premise is the search for Luke Skywalker, not to mention the reveal of Ben Solo's fall to the dark side. Leia is also still alive in the SW universe. So, we're not lacking family members, it's still very much their story, even if the force protagonist won't be one. But, Rey already has connections to two Skywalkers: Luke as her mentor, which is important to her journey as a force user and hero, and her "mysterious connection" with Kylo Ren, as stated in the official Star Wars databank.

It's also the implications it would have for Luke's character. I can't see him abandoning a child after his own experience growing up as a orphan. We supposedly think that he left everything behind in search of the last Jedi temple, far from the Luke we left at the end of ROTJ. If he didn't know about Rey's existence, it begs the question how this supposedly family-oriented guy could knock someone up and then just leave. It doesn't mesh well with his character and gives Luke and Rey's relationship no emotional foundation from which to forge a mutual connection.

For me, Star Wars has always been about the family you keep. The idea that “family is the people you choose to surround yourself with and love you dearly” is a better theme and better concept than “love the family you were arbitrarily stuck with because they’re related to you.”
