    Let's just say that if Rey has a Forceback of her family in TLJ, she probably won't be like "Huh...those guys abandoned me? I can't recognize them at all..." :)

    I'll have to watch that video. However, according to Rian Johnson:

    “It very much feels like what we all go through in adolescence, the dawning of this new chapter of our lives.” The director adds that the deepening of familial themes in Episode VIII is “a huge part of especially Rey’s character, something that was a really powerful part of her setup and something I really wanted to dig into with this.”

    So I think I'll go with Rian on this one.

    Yes, but is this an answer that confirms one of the theories about her? I don't think it is.
    He's only saying she will deal with her origins, and that is important to the story because it's
    important to the character arc as it would be for any human being to know from where he/she came from.

    Her family can be alive, dead, a good one a dark one.
    Whatever the case is, she's thinking about that and she will have to face the reality.

    If they are dead, she will have to accept they are dead (and the circumstances of their death can be interesting too).
    If they are alive, why did they leave her? etc...

    Whatever the answer is, is going to add something to the story....

    Yes. So of course Rey's family/the story of Rey's family is important to the story. That's what I was saying with that quote.

    The evidence for *who* Rey's parents are is a different story.

    Star Wars saga is about Anakin. The ST is a continuation of that. If Rey is not related to Anakin, she will just be a supporting character in this trilogy. She could die in episode VIII like OB1 did. If she is going to be important like Luke, Leia and Kylo important then she is Rey Skywalker.

    It is Obvious that she is related to Anakin.
