Yeah, and that fan wishlisted that for a good reason: Star Trek. What's good for the goose..
I do feel I must correct you on one thing. ESB did not make as much money as ANH; nowhere near as much. ESB was the lowest grossing film of the OT. Even in 1997, after everyone had finally discovered just how great ESB was, it still couldn't make half as much as a heavily cgi'd ANH. What that tells me, and Disney, is that 'Casual Fan' wants to see "Star Wars" at the box office, not "Empire". And thats who Bob Iger wants to get most. Disney knows we'll be there. It's that magic of 1977 they want to replicate, because 20thC-FOX owns the distro rights to said magic. Forever.
    http://boxofficemojo.com/franchises/chart/?id=starwars.htm
That said, I'm hopeful this will be a tight trilogy as well. I really hope Disney doesn't blow the oppertunity here to make the trilogy a three part arc as opposed to a tentpole and 2part sequels. I'm also hopefull that 'Looper' will give us something ESB like in nature.

If they do turn Luke evil, they'll rip even more holes in the fandom than the PQs did. There's already a flame war over Kylo Ren's lightsaber and the crappy hero names.

So what if Luke gets a taste of the evil it's not the first time his anger has revealed it's ugly head. Sure Leia is there to snap him out it she did before she will do it again.

This video illustrates that Luke will either train Leia to be a jedi or she will be trained to use the force as Luke has. So theoretically it would make sense that Leia did train Rey to be a jedi and taught her everything she knows, which after 30 years could be a lot. Totally forgot about that line in the movie until i watched it last night.

Also, try to ignore the fact that their voices sound sped up...

I would seriously see him more like jorus c'baoth. Not really evil, more a mix of Jaded and crazy. Hamill played the Joker pretty well, so he'd be good in a role like that.

Doubt we'll see that much training in this episode. There was too much tell and show in the PT.

We'll see masters and novices and not much in between, any training will be im between episodes

I agree with you, and I said in my original post that this theory has nothing to do with Luke actually turning evil in any episode. It's simply the reason for her creation, Luke just wanted to be safe. It's a very Batman-like contingency I suppose.
Part of the mystery of the Dark side is it's powerful allure. Vader informed luke he didn't understand it, so it's possible that in the 30 year gap there were times when he came close to succumbing to anger, (or whatever "evil" emotion you'd prefer), just like in RTOJ when he summoned it to defeat Vader.

Unless there is some instance where Luke had to exile himself or something along those lines I completely expect Leia to exercise some knowledge of the force. Maybe she isn't an all out Jedi but she can do basic things like force throw small objects or something or she can pull the old "these are not the droids your looking for" on a storm trooper. If she has no force ability there had better be a damn good reason for it.

Thanks for you kind reply, but I don't want Batman stuff in Star Wars.
The Nolan movies try to be realisitic comics.
I dislike this colorless over realistic approach.
Star Wars is a fun colorful Space Adventure, I want a story to enjoy and not a washed out over complicated pseudo story with lamenting characters and their traumas.
For me the Batman trilogy is way overrated and I never really liked Nolan's style except his early work on Memento.
I don't get it, why so many people like this trilogy, Batman Begins was o.k., but the rest was mediocrity in the direction of a bad movie for me.
Apparently I'am outnumbered in my opinion.

Speculation, "leaks" & theory seem to blast the Star Wars fan forums & film message boards, but here's what I think(at this point, 02/FEB 2015):
TFA will start slow, bringing out characters(mostly new), then a plot point/significant event will occur, the entire film storyline will jump ahead: 10/15/20 years, then pick up with the major leads in either disarray(wounded, bitter, lost, angry, etc) or in different circumstances.
I doubt at this stage Luke will be "Batman", The Terminator, Zorro, or the "Wizard of Oz".
I DO find it clever & telling that actor Mark Hamill made the soc media remark: "we're not in Kansas anymore". ;)
This may be a discreet Oz film reference to Skywalker concealing his true identity or intentions until the 3rd act or climax.
I think Luke will have secret Jedi or a order of padawans he's trained to be sleeper agents for 10/15 years.
He won't be directly involved in the fight/Empire conflict or the political actions of Leia.
Luke will direct the Jedi to avoid the combat/war and be ready for the coming threat(maybe Plaguis) that will rise up in TFA.
The young leads(Rey, Poe, Ren, Finn, etc) will slowly move towards the forefront by the end of TFA.
I still think someone will betray Luke in the 3rd act & maybe Han will die but the climax will lay the ground work for EP8. My $ is still on Ren becoming a cut rate Darth Vader, but I hope it isn't soap operay or obvious that Disney wanted to rehash a Vader character.
Oh and a beat down, upset Luke will have a brief scene with force ghost Yoda(Frank Oz).

I don't recall Rey wearing a hat that bad in the trailer. Nor do I hope to see one in TFA.

Actually Rey's gear apart from the Boushh helmet looks alot like Leia's disguise in ROTJ. Even the long mystery item on the side of her speeder.

I know that Rey would still be granddaughter of Anakin, even if her father is Han Solo. But it is not the same. She would be Solo, not Skywalker.

And Star wars story was always about Skywalkers, not Solo familly. So to me it has more sence for her to be a Luke daughter.

I think it will be good it she is a Skywalker or Solo ( still has Skywalker bloodlines) and I wholly agree with @D-green and hope she is the lead character.

If she is not the main character(or at least co-lead equal with boyega) then they will have squandered a great opportunity. First of all, would they be capitalizing on the current influx of movies/franchises with a strong heroine at the center, i.e. Hunger games and the divergent series. Regardless of how you feel about those movies, the box office numbers paint a pretty clear picture that audiences are more than willing to go out and see films led by a strong female lead. I couldn't be happier to see the growth of the audience, the studios, and the industry as a whole.

I'm a male in my mid-twenties and have found myself being more drawn to stories that feature female leads, especially in the sci-fi fantasy genres. It usually leads to a more interesting, layered story in my opinion when you place a female in a normally male role or position of power. Whether it's briane on GOT(so stoked Christie is cast), changing Starbuck to a woman in BSG or even just playing as female Shepard in mass effect, I think the story is almost always more intriguing, not less.

It would also be smart on disney's part because it would appeal to the broadest audience possible. If it was just another star wars movie, I think there's a pretty set audience that would see it, but it would be hard for the film to appeal to everyone. Making ridley the main protagonist however, might just get that young girl that never had an interest in Star Wars to go out and watch it. Not just because it's Star Wars, I'm not trying to make a statement that Star Wars is only for boys or anything that ignorant or come to think of it flat out false. But with the cross-culture love that things like the hunger games have, it might make someone not interested before, to compare it to those movies and think, "I'm a fan of those, maybe I'll give it a shot".

I'll probably get some flak saying it's not that big a deal, but I think it's an important step for the future of the film industry if JJ and crew take the risk, walk out on that limb and say, we're taking the most beloved franchise in the history of film, perhaps any medium, and placing the future of Star Wars squarely on the shoulders of our new central star, miss Daisy Ridley.

May the force be with you

Looking at many pieces of concept art and listening to the MakingStarWars.net podcasts, i don't think we have to worry about Daisy being the "darth maul" of episode VII as some have suggested on here. From all the rumours coming out, Daisy is at the very least a co-lead with boyega. Now on-top of this, rian johnson, the next director of star wars said this

basically saying she is about to go from unknown to massive star, that doesn't sound like a "darth maul" throw away character does it?. :)
