    Some things I'm wondering:

    1. When Rey is taken captive by Kylo, was she just in the wrong place at the wrong time or was she deliberately taken?

    2. What could have been revealed in Rose's pub that made Rey run off? It must have been very traumatic.

    3. In the past two trilogies, the central character has been watched over by two people (Anakin by Shmi and Watto, Luke by Owen and Beru) so who watches over Rey? Could it be MVS and maybe Han?

If Luke is talking to Rey (implicitly) in teaser 2, and if Rey is Luke's daughter, why mention Leia? Mentioning Leia ("my sister") is a sidestep to track the family lineage from father to granddaughter via Leia, I assumed. Otherwise, "My father has it, I have it, and you have it too" would have done. No need for Leia unless she's an important link, and that (for me) means Leia is Rey's (or whoever's) mother....

    Stunning!

On the subject of flipped images: the shot of Luke (is it?) reaching out to touch R2 is reversed if you compare it to the behind the scenes pic from the shoot. I guess they flipped a lot for the trailer....

Good catch, but that presents quite a problem... If the shot is flipped in the trailer then in the original non-flipped shot, it's the character's left hand that is mechanical, not the right. Uh oh...

More than the mechanical hand, wouldn't the main issue with flipping the image be R2 himself? R2 isn't flipped.

Good point about R2 not being flipped. But both pics show "Luke's" right hand, and that's mechanical in only one pic. Perhaps the behind the scenes shot was a practice or blocking thing that wasn't the final arrangement....

Something tells me that movie magic was employed in order to make that hand appear mechanical. :) But yeah, who knows. But clearly that photograph isn't at all the same framing as the shot in the trailer. It's not flipped, he's just on the other side of R2.

I'm all about the actual teaser 2 shot being in the Vietnamese cave.

Or rather, Luke is in exactly the same position he is in for the trailer and R2 is simply facing the other way. We are looking out of shot, rather than into it.

Here's where these things would have been filmed, by my reckoning.

I still don't see any connection with the shot of Luke in the trailer and the Jakku village set, other than they would have used Pinewood's North Lot for both. The environment Luke is in is much more solid and dirty, if you comapre it to the sand piled up in the background for the Jakku set.

At the Japanese promotion event, Kathleen stated that Star Wars is a generational saga and it was very important for them to continue that. So one of the leads has definitely got to be related. Everything seems to be pointing at beautiful Rey.

    ^ this is the video.

Kathleen Kennedy: "This is a generational family saga and that fundamentally has been very important to us to continue that." "And the drama inherent in that is the tension between good and evil."

Personally, I didn't expect anything else. This was a given as this is Star Wars, imo.

Thanks for the clarification, though.... :)

So... The movie should be between 2 hours and 2 hours and 30 minutes. Standard for Star Wars.

IMO this statement just screams that Kylo and Rey are related to each other, and to either Luke or Leia.

The way I see it is Rey will be the central hero, Han and Leia's daughter, who must fight her evil brother Kylo who has been turned to the dark side.

We had father vs son. Now we're getting brother vs sister. Since its Disney, the next trilogy will probably be daughter vs evil stepmother!
