As a lifelong Eagles fan, I think we have a better shot then we did against Brady in 2005. The Patriots were much better overall team in 2005 and had a much better defense. Now I still would never bet against Tom Brady as he is the GOAT, but if we can get pressure on him with our front four just like the Giants did in both of their Superbowl wins. I was born in 1972, so this town has been waiting since 1960 for a Superbowl/Championship as we are long overdue!

With Superbowl Weekend here, I am reminiscing. I will never forget this opening narrated by one of my favorite actors.

And if you wanna see the highlights and results of that game, it is an amazing thing to behold.

As I lifelong Eagles fan, this win was even more special because we beat two of the greatest (Brady and Belichick). I was on pins and needles as I honestly thought he would drive them down like he has done so many times. This was just our year, and I'm trying to enjoy and savor it. :)

I didn't really care who won, I'm not a fan of either team but don't dislike either team so whoever won was fine with me. As a non-Cowboys fan living in Dallas I was sort of pulling for Philly because Cowboys fans are always giving the Eagles crap over never winning a Super Bowl and I knew it would annoy them that one of their biggest rivals won it with their backup QB. But it would seem quite a few of them have tried to pretzel it into some sort of moral victory, an NFC East team won and that's somehow a victory for every team in the division or something. Cowboys fans have gone from winning Super Bowls to treating a playoff berth like the Super Bowl to finally just hopping on the bandwagon of division rivals with success. Maybe they should just get a GM.

    Colts fan?

Eagles are pressing pretty close to salary cap and they have two starting QB's. One who could have been MVP of the 2017 season save for his late season injury and another who is Superbowl Champion and MVP.

They have a BIG decision to make.

If that decision is not Wentz, I will [insert ridiculously embarassing bet here]

Going to be fun seeing what the market is for Foles!

I feel your pain. But, better that it happened now rather than 6 months from now, or midway through the season. This could be a blessing in disguise...

Remember, second choices aren't necessarily bad choices. A couple years ago, the Eagles didn't get their first choice: Ben McAdoo. Second choice? Doug Pederson.

That one kinda worked out for them to say the least. :)
Hopefully you guys will have just as much luck!!

    Speaking of...

I NEVER made the connection that Doug Pederson was the old veteran GB backup from back in the day and I never knew that Frank Reich was coaching. That is cool. I have old-school football cards of these dudes from when I used to collect as a kid.

The whole Parcells/Belicick Coaching Tree are a bunch of snakes. Remember Parcells left the Patriots after the Superbowl in 1997, but was still under contract for another year. He and Belicick came up with this plan that Belichick would coach the Jets for a year and Parcells would be an advisor and then step in as coach the next season. The NFL stepped in and the Jets had to pay compensation to the Patriots.

Then a few seasons later Robert Kraft wanted Belichick to coach the Patriots and Parcells didn't want him to go just out of spite, so he stepped down as Jets coach and gave Belichick the job. Belichick stiffed Parcells and stepped down as Jets coach after 1 day and took the Patriots job as they didn't talk for 15 years.

Josh McDaniels is a great Offensive Coordinator but failed big time in Denver as a Head Coach, so I wouldn't be too heartbroken.

The lucky thing is they have Foles under contract for another year, so they can trade him for a really good draft pick. And they don't have to give Wentz that bigtime contract for another 2 years, so they can pretty much take the same team into the season next year to try to repeat.

When the Eagles hired Pederson, there were fans jumping off the bridges as it was a very unpopular hire. And now Doug Pederson could be Mayor of Philly tomorrow as he is beloved by the fans. I never get caught up in the hot Coordinator because you just never know how they will be as a Head Coach. As you said we went hard after McAdoo and payed Chip Kelly a lot of money and those guys failed in the NFL. It's all a roll of the dice.

I miss Collecting Baseball, Football, Hockey, Basketball Cards! Do you remember when the market crashed in the early 90's and all of those late 80's cards that were over-produced ended up being worthless. It was a lesson in Economics that what goes up must go down!

Yes! I used to only collect Football and my best friend primarily collected Baseball. Between us we'd focus on Ken Griffey Jr for baseball cards and Bo Jackson/Deion Sanders Football/Baseball combo cards, mostly because we loved them. We collected them for the joy but used to get the Beckett mag so we could revel in their value. For a while some of them looked like they would be worth something, then it just kinda bottomed out. Didn't matter for us though since they weren't an investment.

It's a shame because when I collected as a kid, I didn't care or know what the values were of the cards as all I wanted to do was complete the set. I mostly collected Baseball Cards because they were the easiest to find at stores like 7-11 and Wawa. Then when I was in high school (late 80's) and got a job and had some disposable money, I started collecting like it was going to be retirement money. Then around 1991-92, the bottom just fell out of the industry and I realized I wasn't going to retire at 30 years old! :(

I ended up selling my whole Collection to a dealer in 2001 for about $2,000, but I sort of regret it because those cards had a lot of good memories. :)

That's what it is to me now. I have those huge binder filled with sheets of my favorite cards. The others in the card boxes and a select few still in plastic cases. All packed away still.

My favorite card was the Billy Ripken 1989 Donruss error. Someone put on his bat 'F**k Face' as a joke and thousands of cards were printed before they caught the mistake. The card is a legend even today in the industry!

I brought it in to school one day and showed my friends and my teacher almost confiscated it! It's funny what was offensive in 1989 compared to now! :D
