Ben and Rey destroy the new dark side enemy and bury the hatchet. I think a point will be made about the millennia conflict between the light, the dark and the Skywalkers coming to an end. Balance will be reached. But is balance ever completely achieved, even if the Skywalkers become balanced in the force?

She will champion Rey, thence the red ribbon in the training scene. She will mentor the young fighters, send them to missions, and retreat into the force to reach Ben.

Rey is becoming a better fighter, Kylo has become resentful, the resistance is recruiting members, old Leia’s friends and allies.

It’s a ruse. Matt Smith or some knight of Ren will pretend Palpatine is back. They will use Sith magic to scare everyone and emulate Palpatine.

She will be tempted by the dark and go a bit wild, but just that. The Rey with the double saber and dead eyes is Kylo’s vision: Rey in the dark side is his worst fear because he loves her.

This reminds me of Oscar Diggs duping the people of Emerald City, that he is the Great and Powerful Oz. I like this call back to the Wizard of Oz, TFA had a lot of callbacks to the Wizard of Oz.

 

Exactly. That’s what this reminds me of too . ANH had also a lot of wizard of oz elements. JJ loves illusion. I wouldn’t be surprised if all this Palpatine coming back had something of the counterfeit and theatrical at its core.
