Ahsoka is now a strong possibility, right?

Now that we know she's alive, I bet Disney is going to be gauging the potential for a dedicated spinoff film about her. I have SERIOUS doubts they'd allow anyone to kill her off if there's the possibility of building her into an even more prominent character. I mean, she's easily in the top 5 or 6 most popular canonical characters these days. Look how the collective SW fanbase erupted when she showed up on Rebels!

She could easily be the superhero-type character in the SW universe. Sort of a rogue do-gooder, like Spider-Man.

I'd say it will likely depend on the success of the new characters and plotlines in both Rebels and the ST. If they have a breakout character like a Boba Fett in the ST, my guess is they will use the third spin-off to start exploring that territory. Ahsoka was very popular, but popular on a show that is dead and Disney will have little interest in pushing. From the sound of it, she'll be a recurring but not major character on Rebels in Season 2 so it remains to be seen how her popularity will carry over to the new show.

I don't doubt its possible, and would even welcome if under the right circumstances. But I think Disney and Lucasfilm will push forwards with new ground if they can because it creates better synergy and marketing opportunities than rehashing something that was popular in the previous era. But if the ST fails to create a demand for spin-offs, then rehashing older popular characters like Ahsoka will probably be the direction they go.

I think these represent reasons Ahsoka won't be the focus of the first couple Anthology films. However, if the first two Anthology films and episodes VII and VIII are a success, I think Disney will be a little bolder in their choices. Think of Guardians of the Galaxy: Marvel surely would never have considered this film near the beginning of the MCU. But once they had a string of successes, they got bolder. I'm hoping this will happen, and that we'll get an Ahsoka movie in a few years...

I don't think it will flop, but you're right it wont do as much as TFA. I think it will do like 200-400million. It will be the first movie with no force users people will have interest, we'll have to wait to see a real teaser.

True, but I'm guessing 600 million or more. Felicity Jones will draw the most due to star power, but the wide variety of rumored actors plus the fact it's Star Wars means it can be a very high grosser.

As much as I might like to see her in a live-action rendition, she surely (IMO) won't be in the ST as she'll likely die at the hands of Vader or just plainly be too old for that ST timeline if she survives. Now an Anthology film could be a different story...I just don't see it tho. :(

Couldn't Ahsoka conceivably be a character in Rogue One? Afterall, she is assisting the rebels in the Rebels TV Show. Just a thought.

You're right. Now actually considering it (and after reading Aftermath), she could be a strong possibility, especially after she's mentioned (as Fulcrum) in Aftermath by Wedge.

We dont know how this entire situation with Ahoska is going to play out, but it would be interesting to know that someone that was formally apart of the Old Jedi Order but is NOT a Jedi, is a force user becomes an myth among the Galaxy which i could get behind. Her character in Clones was annoying, but in Rebels and beyond i could accept, it could be kinda of like Vader White Whale, while also after he is dead Ashoka is apart of the Rebellion!

Doubtful, but possible some day. People identify with the main character in a film, it's a big risk to put out a film where the main character is an alien (unless they make it a movie geared towards kids in the Pixar mold, but even then...). If they do decide it's a risk worth taking I think Ahsoka is far and away the most likely character. I don't see them considering doing it until the spin offs are established and doing consistently well first.

There are old/long standing rumors out there of a Seven Samurai based/inspired star wars movie staring a younger Yoda in the works.

The thing with Ahsoka is that she could tell an original story, while still bringing in some fan favorite characters.

We could get an original Ahsoka story, but bring in McGregor's Obi Wan to work with her, Vader to fight, Maul (maybe finally giving the role to Del Toro), Inquisitors, Hando (haven't seen much of Rebels, is he still alive?), Cad Bane, and characters from the OT like Greedo or IG-88.

I think Ahsoka could be a fantastic addition to the live action films- either in her own film, or as a supporting character in another, such as an Obi Wan film. The big question now, is who would play her?

There are going to be a lot of empty adult sized seats in the cinema for an Ahsoka film....

An Ahsoka movie is still a longshot, even though I feel the odds have increased a tiny tiny tiny bit due to Saw Gerrera's live-action appearance in Rogue One. As far as I remember, Saw is the first character to make the jump from animation to live action. Ahsoka's popularity with the fans is another small glimmer of hope for me.

I think it may depend on the rest of the story. No adult knew who Jyn, Cassian, et. al were, either, but Rogue One did pretty well for itself.

If Ahsoka has Ewan in it as Kenobi, and maybe could even feature the return of Maul, I think it could do pretty well also. But yeah, alone she's not gonna put butts in seats.
