Ahsoka is now a strong possibility, right?

A live-action standalone movie would be nice, but I would definitely love if they do an animated movie of The Clone Wars: The Siege of Mandalore with the voices we know and love (Ashley Eckstein, Sam Witwer, Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor, etc).

Live action or animated, that needs to happen.

No way will the third standalone movie be about Ahsoka. It's too early for standalone films too focus on characters most people in the world don't know exist. They will focus on characters from the live action movies for the next few years as it makes perfect sense from a marketing point of view to capitalise on making movies about characters most people have heard of.

Be interesting to see how she could move into the Star Wars Universe after some of the rumors of VIII and us possibly losing the Jedi. As much as I don't want to see it happen I think the future of Star Wars is moving away from the Jedi vs Sith conflict.

I think it would be dependant on what the basis of the story is. If it were animated I would agree with you. However if it was live action and better than the book that recently came out about her then I think the fans would go and see it.

Rogue One did great with unknown characters because the movie was directly tied in with A New Hope and we all wanted to see the story behind it.

I agree it won't be in this wave of stand alones or probably the next wave either. She needs to be introduced in a movie as a background or secondary character and see how the public reacts prior to releasing her in a SOLO movie.

But then again Marvel and DC are taking a lot of liberties and chance releasing all these Marvel movies and shows. While a lot of the characters are widely known they are releasing some unfamiliar characters as well. It some of the movies we see them as secondary characters but Netflix has been dropping some shows on characters that weren't that big. And when I say weren't that big a lot of people that don't dig comments are being lured into these shows.

I agree with you but I don't know if you can compare marvel comics to star wars tv shows in terms of how many people are aware of them and the characters. I would say you can potentially reach a far bigger audience on tv but I have no idea how how people In the world read marvel? If star wars tv shows reach a far wider audience then it's conceivable they might take bigger risks with lesser known characters going forward. I just don't know.

I think the two, Marvel & Star Wars, are easily comparable. However I can agree that a T.V. show vs a stand alone movie are drastically different. You can cancel a TV show with minimal cost lost were as a movie you're just sunk if it bombs.

Well, a movie about a character that some people know about is more likely when you stop to think that the first spin-off was about a group of characters that nobody knew about.

But it was also a story that people already knew about from ANH. The public wanted to hear and see that story IMO. It directly tied into ANH.

I agree R1 gives us hope on unknown characters, I'm just not sure how far I should stretch that hope.

Ahsoka so far has only been seen in the animated stuff, toy lines, and in a book, so some fans might not even know that she is a part of the universe right now. I think it would be best played as her being a secondary character in a movie and then going for a standalone/solo movie.

Rogue one was marketed using Vader and the death star. Two things alot of people already knew about.

I think partly what sold a character like iron man to the world was having an a list Hollywood star like Robert Downey Junior playing the lead role. That and some cool trailers. I think they could potentially sell a character like Asohka if they get an a-lister playing the role and the marketing with the trailers is really cool. Having said all that I still don't believe they will do that straight away simply because there are characters that immediately spring to mind that lots of people already know of like Han Solo and Obi wan Kenobi.

Rogue one was made because of the event about the Stolen death Star plans. If it wasn't for that and the use of Vader to market it they wouldn't have made a movie about Jyn Erso.

I would love to see Ahsoka in the more prominent role in ST movies. She is the original gray jedi of the new generation...even her lightsabers are silver...
    Her line...I'm no Jedi...classic badass.

    I doubt it

    1) She is still not known much by the general public.
    2) We haven't had a single major alien character in TFA, RO or it looks like TLJ not even something super near human like a Chiss. Maz is all we gotten.

A few years ago, nobody knew almost any of the characters from these films, outside of Han, Luke, and Leia. Just because some of the audience has some backstory on Ahsoka doesn't mean the rest can't be brought up to speed.

Though, I do think the biggest hurdle would be convincing non-TCW/Rebels fans that Anakin had a padawan. It was awkward enough when TCW came out as almost a kids movie. In an adult live action film, I could totally see that being an issue.

Then I'd say we're about due

With that talk a couple months back about Rosario Dawson wanting to play Ahsoka Tano, I could see them putting her into the basically-confirmed Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off film. I feel like that one will have a lot of "flashback" type scenes, as Obi-Wan's time as a hermit on Tatoonie isn't exactly blockbuster material. We could see him starting to write in the journal that Luke eventually finds and we get mini-stories interspersed with the main plot of the film. We get Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, give Hayden another chance at Anakin Skywalker, and we basically get an episode of TCW as part of an anthology film. See the audience/fan reaction to that and if it's good, we can get Ahsoka Tano: A Star Wars Story.

I could also see us getting the Siege of Mandalore being made into an animated movie (probably for TV), so we could kinda see an Ahsoka Tano movie on the horizon. (Well, one that's actually good.)

"Lady Tano: The Lost Padawan" would be a great title...for animated series probably, I don`t believe they gonna do standalone film, 'cause only fans will understand (have a lot of friends SW fans and do not have a clue who Ahsoka is, and, for example, they are R1 fans now).

Like your idea of including her to OB1 movie...

Unless in the ST I doubt they would use an actress that old as Rosario Dawson. I would go with someone like Rosabell Laurenti Sellers.

I have to admit it took awhile before she grew on me. By the end of TCW, I was more accepting. Im not sure I would want a movie focused solely on her though. I'd want to see her in a spin off with someone else of more SW prominence before I am convinced it could be a great movie. I'm open to the idea, just not yet convinced.
