Thanks for that! I still love the link. It completely changed the opening crawl for me. It’s not just some background laying it’s actually R2 talking to us if that is the way Jedi temple droids learned/were programmed to tell stories.

Also, this episode was particularly beautifully shot. I kind of dumped on the cheapness of the look of the flashback scenes in the last episode but if it was to save coin to make this episode look like that… great deal as far as I’m concerned.

Thrawn didn’t look as physically imposing as I would have hoped but the voice and general demeanor we spot on. Again, a trade off I’m good with (the voice actor is who he is). Besides I could get over that with a few years have passed and I’m in my early 40s… I know just a few years can really change things…(r2-d2)

I also find Baylan to be the best acted and most intriguing character in the show.

The Night Troopers are EASILY the most intimidating, not to be F’d with iterations of stormtrooper since the original ones when I first saw ANH by a million miles.

This hands down the best episode so far and maybe my favorite entry to the SW universe since Rogue One!

All right, time for my late series prediction that will almost certainly be nothing like what actually happens...

    Episode 7
    Nighttroopers

Ahsoka arrives at Peridea. She triggers Thrawn's trap, and just barely survives. Many purgill are killed, and Huyang is captured in the aftermath.

Meanwhile, Sabine and Ezra make their way back to the Nightsister's tower to try to find a way back to the GFFA. They are ambushed by Shin and Baylan.

Enoch tries to extract information from Huyang about Ahsoka's likely whereabouts. Huyang doesn't give in, and so Huyang begins to completely dismantle and destroy the droid. In the process, his mask slips, revealing a reanimated corpse inside (we all saw that coming).

Ahsoka makes her way through the Nightsister castle, fighting zombified stormtroopers. She encounters Morgan, and the two have a duel similar to the one in Mando Season 2. Ahsoka bests her again and tries to spare her, but the Peridea Nightsisters see the weakness of Morgan and have undead from the crypts overwhelm her. Ahsoka tries to defend Morgan for a while, but is quickly overwhelmed herself, and jumps out of the fray.

Meanwhile, Ezra and Sabine are still battling Baylan and Shin at the base of the tower. The two are fighting in very good synchronization, tossing the single green lightsaber back and forth to each other with ease. Shin seems disturbed at how in tune with the force Sabine now seems to be... undoubtedly as she feels more "whole", given her friend (just friend, btw) Ezra is back with her. Eventually, Baylan yields, and proclaims that he wishes to start a new order of Jedi in this new galaxy. Ezra finds this to be a noble goal, and allows him to live. Exit Baylan and Shin, and Sabine/Ezra reunite with Ahsoka in the tower.

The three near the Chimera's docking bay and see Thrawn right as he's about to take off. He makes some speech about the purgill having all been killed and scattered, and the ship docks with the Eye of Sion and travels back to the GFFA, leaving the heroes behind.

Stranded again, the heroes return to the rock people's village.

The Chimera arrives at Seastos. A Republic fleet is still there examining the incident that occurred earlier, and Hera/Jacen are aboard one of the ships, jailed for questioning. The Chimera begins firing on the fleet, as Nightsister magic enshrouds the Star Destroyer.

    Episode 8
    Dawn of the Apprentice

We get a prolonged look at the battle of Seastos. The Republic ships outnumber Thrawn 15 to 1, but they're unable to even see the Chimera as it's shrouded by Nightsister magic. Escape pods begin burrowing themselves into Republic hulls, from which emerge zombified Nightsisters who terrorize the Republic troops aboard. Burning ships fall to the waters of Seastos below.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine all return to the rock people village. The mood is glum, as not only are they stranded, but they fear for the GFFA. Upon returning to the village, the villagers are excited to see Ahsoka... much more perked up than we saw them last episode. They beck to her, and lead the trio down a path.

A squadron of Republic fighters arrives above Seastos, including Zeb. Thought the odds are against them, they begin to help shooting down Thrawn's corpse escape pods before they hit the Republic ships. As claxxons blare and zombies flood the holding cells area, we see a force ghost of Kanan appear to Jacen. He tells the kid to be strong and trust in the force, and the two talk briefly. Kanan expresses sadness that he couldn't be there with Jacen, but pride in how the kid has grown up. He glances up at Hera and says that he loves Jacen's mother very much. Afterward, we see Hera staring at the spot where Kanan had appeared... she saw him too.

The rock people lead the trio to another village... this one of Togruta! Turns out Ahsoka's people once lived on Peridea, too. (Ezra makes some remark like "Why did you never take me here before?"). The Togruta are welcoming to the trio- and it turns out they have a young purgill.

The Republic troops above Seastos try to flee, but Thrawn activates a gravity well projector on the Chimera, similar to the ones on the Interdictors. The Republic troops call Coruscant for aid, but Counsillor Xiono and some other refuse for some reason, perhaps claiming that they see no enemies on the Republic's sensors (due to Nightsister magic).

The young purgill arrives in Seastor, taking Thrawn by surprise and ramming into the Chimera. This disrupts the Nightsister's magic, and their ship is now vulnerable. In the process, the trio are also knocked onto the Chimera. They fight the Nightsisters there, and after defeating them, Thrawn arrives and makes some grand speech about how if he dies, so will they. Hera informs Ahsoka over comlink that a squadron of bombers are coming in to finish off the Chimera, so the trio quickly scramble into a TIE and escape as the Chimera is destroyed.

    Happy ending stuff happens.

We see members of the Remnant Shadow council meeting in a dingy street. A TIE Defender lands nearby, and Thrawn steps out.

Very interesting, given how Morgan Elsbeth has been giving me La Fey vibes from the very start.

Could anyone make out what the squad leaders we're shouting as Thrawn walked down the isle of troopers? They we're most likely salutes or commands but what we're the words?

Not sure if it would be too soon for the Chapter 7 or 8, but I believe at one point, Ezra will have a direct confrontation with Enoch, leaving him incapacitated and then "borrow" his helmet and golden mask to trick the enemy forces into releasing captured friends. Ezra had always a thing for helmets and impersonating others.

The Captain Enoch theories are getting bigger and bigger every day, I think some thing might occur simply because Wes Chatham is in the role. I loved him in The Expanse tv series.

The last 2 episodes are upon us, will episode 7 & 8 blow our minds, or will it simply be mediocre?
For me its been great, looking forward to Ahsoka in ep. 7.

Yeah, this is Marrok all over again

Y'all need to be ready for the fact that Enoch is simply a bad-butt Stormtrooper Captain and fanatically loyal croony of the Bule Wonder

In other words: Is this mysterious character actually meant to be mysterious OR are they just saving on the cost of an actor by putting one of their stuntmen in a cool costume?

I know which one I’m leaning toward :)

I've heard all kinds of crazy angles on this. I heard one where Enoch is Thrawns replacement of his former personal bodyguard whom Thrawn has personally chosen and because so, Enoch isn't a Nightsister undead creation but a real person etc. etc..
This show has me up in the air on so many issues. I gave up trying to decide in directions of characters after the whole Sabine force sensitive discussions.

It’s almost as if folks would be better off not trying to guess what the story is doing, and just let it play out the way it’s going to regardless of what anyone speculates.

But we know that can't be the case. I'm just talking nonsense now.
