You're all mistaken, though. If you think about it, it's pretty obvious that Enoch is actually...

Not at all. We should, but we won't because we're in too deep ha ha. I must say that the characters and plot are juicy. There's so much to draw from and speculate it's insane.

Before it's all said and done I think Shin may go full light but PLEASE don't quote me on that lol. I'm not falling for it this time ha ha.

The most ironic person for Enoch to be is Bevel Lemelisk's last clone.

Enhanced via Nightsister mist like Savage Oppress, of course.

Two days before the next episode, I'm still here with one question in mind: was it really worth going to another galaxy?

I mean: what was the point? the very reason to go "far far away" elsewhere, with a disconcerting ease: the Eye of Zion has not really been fully tested, no one has ever calculated such an intergalactic journey, while others have simply travelled inside the Purgill's mouth.
Okay let's assume it's Star Wars...

But what do I miss with that whole new galaxy/planet Peridia ?
To me, this place looks like any other (new) place in the galaxy : there is wildlife, there are belligerant aliens that will easily be defeated by our heroïn, and surrounding all of this, there is the Force, speaking to everyone and comfortably guiding Sabine to the lobsters first, then to Ezra.
Hear me : all of this could have occurred on Chandrila, right? Okay, on Christophsis. Okay, on Acht-To. Okay, wherever you want... as long as Thrawn and Co don't get away easily.

So, what was the need for another galaxy ? Some reference I don't get ? Something yet to be seen ?

I mean... it is obvious, from a writing standpoint, why Ezra and Thrawn had to be exiled, right?

They can't retroactively be around during the OT, Ezra being a Jedi (=padawan of a Jedi lineage who has not renounced the order, which would interfere with Luke's arc) and Thrawn being Thrawn (which would interefere with everything, really). They had to be removed from the OT timeline, and sending them to Peridea (which apparently is the planet and not the galaxy) was as good a way as any to get rid of them as any.

That is literally why we are now there.

    Perhaps.
    Time will say. :D

I'm OK they HAD to be absent from the OT. I don't dispute that.
The question is : could this exile have happenend inside the Galaxy ?
I know my question can seem stubborn.
But it's not the same thing, between traveliing from a planet to another, even from a star to another, and, travelling from one galaxy to another.

And yet, a never-tested vessel made the perfect jump, as did another nestled in the mouth of an animal... y'know, for me it would have been more believable to have Thrawn&Co crashed somewhere in the outer rim, without any radio nor hyperdrive (and it's just my opinion, I absolutely do not blame anyone to have a different take).
Of course, we couldn't have had the roadmap to Peridea, made by Dathomirian several centuries before. We should have followed another way, perhaps a whales'poops alley.

I feel like, in this case at least, it’s better to ask ‘why not?’ Y’know? Why not go all the way out to a new galaxy when something less ambitious would have worked? Why not do something different when so much of Star Wars is feeling ‘samey’? Why not expand the canvas when you have the opportunity to?

That being said, they’ve been telling stories about riding space whales to another galaxy for thousands of years, and only now are they actually giving it a try? Can’t wait to hear how that wrinkle irons out :)

Seems to me that Thrawn and Ezra's exile gave Favreau and Filoni the perfect way to: 1) introduce a new galaxy which allows the writers countless opportunities to introduce new, unique threats (ala Star Trek's The Borg back in the day); 2) Provide a rational explanation why Thrawn and Ezra were absent the OT; and 3) set-up The Skeleton Crew's 'lost in space' format for future tie-ins.

Yes. Prime example is the Lost Tribe of the Sith. Granted, that all happened in wild space.... but still - they were in exile for almost 5000 years.

I get your point. Also, since Rebels, we have been assuming that Thrawn and Ezra were in the Unknown Regions. I think there could be many reasons it was written as a new Galaxy. As far as couldn't they have been in-Galaxy? There had to be some difficulties that kept them away. If they had been in Wild Space or the extreme Outer Rim, they could and would have found their way back to the Core and would have been involved in the War. Another interesting idea here is how long did it take for Thrawn to realize he was in an entirely different Galaxy? I'm also curious what his endgame is or will be once he returns to the known Galaxy. I don't believe he will have any interest in the Imperial Remnant, and I'm certain he will immediately deduce the flaws of the New Republic. Surely he has used the past decade to make a plan with a contingency or two.

This was a concern of mine from the start about making it obvious what happened with Ezra and Thrawn, and why it happened. Having my "SW-dummy" sister invested in this series has been a fun bit of experience. The easy answer is that this show has done a really good job of giving enough information to make it all make sense without causing confusion. The only potential issue is that casual viewers have a presumption that there is a lot of backstory, but here is the funny part- most of the things that she has asked me for backstory on are things that are new to us also. What happened between Sabine and Ahsoka? Who are Baylan and Shin? How does Elsbeth know so much about where they are? Who is the gold face guy? She totally got the Anakin flashback stuff, I did have to explain that Anakin was Darth Vader and it really clicked in her brain. She understands Thrawn is a Big Bad Guy and Ezra shot himself into random space to save his friends and the Rebellion, and the impact of all that sacrifice being for naught if Thrawn goes back. Which is a nuance that I think even I have overlooked because of the sheer emotions.

The problem is : there was absolutely nothing new to us there.
    - a planet that looks like like all the others, speaking of landscape and vegetation (even the sky with one sun). Physics is the same. Atmosphere is the same. Oxygen and gravity are the same like everywhere else...
    - aliens that attack the hero (-ïn) and are easily defeated, very similar to humans
    - living creatures resembling everything we have seen so far : a body mounted on four legs, under a head, equipped with two eyes, a mouth containing a tongue, a nose, and for Tota, two ears. So common. Ponda Baba and the Modal Nodes were much more creative.

Really, was it another galaxy ? Okay then, let's explore totaly new stuff ! It was time to test new environment colors and schemes. It was time to test new aliens lifeforms, like blobs why not. And not meeting any speaking turtles that inderstand english...

Peridea may have been far far away in a whole new galaxy, but to me infortunately, it was too close to what we have seen so far.

EXEGOL is an example of what can remain lost for decades, in the Empty Space of the Unkonwn Regions of the Great Outer Rim.

Unfortunately it's a difference if you want something to be hidden for a long time or if you want to prevent someone to come back from somewhere.
If they stayed inside the galaxy, Thrawn would already been back with the remnants of the Star destroyer. Or would at least called for help.

    That's your assumption.
Without further clues, I can pretty well express the exact opposite : with the Chimaera thrusters destroyed, the ship largely and seriously crushed by the Purgill assault over Lothal, and an ineffective radio, anyone who gets lost in the outer rim stays there.....

If we go by the sound design clues, I bet that Enoch is also re-animated by Nightsisters.
He sounds the same as Marrok and I don't believe it is a case of voice modulation.
Comparing these also to Phasma, Boba Fett or other helmeted characters. With exception being Boush, where Leia clearly had a vocoder inside the helmet for obvious reasons, I don't see those reasons here.
It's how the undead/re-animated probably sound in SW.

I see your point but personally I wouldn’t want SW to go AntMan Quantum Mania weird with bizarre new creature and physical properties of new worlds. That stuff gets far too distracting for my taste. At some point, you just have to sit back and enjoy the story you’re being told.

Heck sometimes I look back at my life and think “that’s dumb things should never happen like that!” The universe is weird, just roll with it!
