Interesting for me how R1 started a kind of different “theme” or storyline in SW- focused on the rebellion. Not the skywalker/Jedi/Sith storyline, but one focused on the rebellion and particularly for R1 the sacrifice and courage of pretty much normal people to get those DS plans.

ANDOR has taken this to the next level. Showing the seeds of the rebellion throughout the galaxy and how normal people reach a breaking point and begin to resist. The rebellion doesn’t have one hero or leader it has thousands, like Nemic, Melshi, Kino, Maarva, and Andor. Man I love this storyline.

cannot wait for season 2 to see how these disparate elements are brought together.

It is a necessary evolution for Star Wars. It's mature, well written, conscious and relatable storytelling. Lightsaber and levitating is fun, and it's what has made me a lifetime devotee of this universe. It's fantasy in a fantasy world. The Rebellion isn't that. For me, it strikes a lot of personal feelings. There are millions of people in this world who can relate to the Rebels. It may be set A long time ago, in a Galaxy far, far away... but it is a very real thing, even in the here and now. Ferrix was a fictional creation, but barely 100 years ago, my Grandfather lived the same way in the streets of Dublin. How many people are living through very similar things today in Kyiv? Tehran?

The Rebellion that we are seeing here doesn't have The Force, or Jedi, or a well-armed fleet to fight the oppressive Empire. They are relying on sheer willpower and belief in themselves. Sometimes that's all there is available, but sometimes it's all you need.
