And now back to our regular scheduled programming...

My Season 2 Wish list, no particular order.

Some of Luthen's backstory, or at least a lead-in to a spin-off series, Rael Against the Machine.

Bix joins the Rebellion and goes after the nefarious Dr. Gorst, destroying that hideous interrogation practice.

Brasso also joins up and successfully leads the Liberation of Ferrix. We catch up with him again around 10ABY as Marshall Brasso in Season 1 of Rangers of the New Republic. B2EMO is his trusty sidekick.

All Hell breaks loose on Coruscant as the Emperor tries to arrest Mon Mothma. Cassian, Vel and Cinta are dispatched to extract her from a very hostile situation. Perrin pulls a double cross, alerting the ISB to her whereabouts and Cassian guns him down.

Two words- Bail. Organa.

I would also love to see Asokha, BUT never mention Jedi, the Force, or lightsabers. Probably won't happen, so Hera Syndulla and Chopper would be even better.

More Kleya. Sneaky, snarky, snippy, sassy, delicious Kleya...

Capt. "Prefect" Tigo meets a fitting end during the Liberation of Ferrix, and he is cast into a hydrant-shaped brick so that Pegla's hounds can piss on him daily.

Syril and Dedra... these two... They earn much needed praise and acclaim from within the Imperial ranks. They become the ultimate Power Couple and are rewarded with lofty, powerful positions and plush accommodations. Aboard the Death Star.

 

I like the idea of B2 becoming K2, but...

I will say this re: the comic book, if they are going to stick with that story, I'd rather K2 just appears mid season without explanation. Someone also mentioned a theory that involved Nemik's manifesto being programmed into K, now that would really be cool.

I really hope that some of the crew survive, although I know better than to get my hopes up. B2 could be the easiest to move forward with.

 

I don’t see Ferrix being liberated, there’s more chance of it being obliterated. Things are going to get significantly worse before a new hope arrives.

There will be important things that happen in season 2 that we probably won’t witness, much like in season 1, ie the imperial ambush on Kreegyr, or Marva’s death. But that’s ok because it’s more about how those events impact the character’s and their stories. I don’t know if we’ll see it happening but I think we’ll at least hear about Saw’s methods and the tensions with the evolving Rebel Alliance as hinted at in R1.

I would like to see Kino back at some point during season 2.

 

Well, that is my wish list. Realistically, I don't think much of these scenarios will actually be in season 2. But a boy can wish...

I absolutely agree that we will not get to witness some key events, simply because of the format. We're getting four 3-episode arcs that are spaced out over four years, but also, TG has said that each arc only spans a few days. That's gonna put the overall season pacing into overdrive and there will have been some key events in between arcs. I think many of the cliffhanger issues from season 1 are going to be already settled at the start of season 2, mostly because of the time jump.

 

I will definitely purchase the Art of Star Wars: Andor season 1, because I know the concept artist will discuss why they designed a character wearing a hooded trench coat, brandishing a weapon similar to a lightsaber, and carrying around a Kyber crystal (who does that?), wasn't alluded to in some capacity as a Jedi hiding in plain sight. ... I won't let this go... even though I know the premise of Rogue One is about the common rebel grunt... its gotta be Gilroy's clever writing.

I hope in season 2, its suggested somehow, someway... end of Crazy Old Wizard rant

Season 2 wishes:
-something referencing Mandalore and the Purge(What?? I love Mandalorians. We should all be walking around in armor that also serves as a one-man army)
-Live action of Operation Handoff and the Declaration of the Rebel Alliance.
-some of the Empire's atrocities are shown: Ghorman Massacre, Vader subjugating the Wookies(though I don't think it occurred in this time period), or my own personal want: the Caamas Firestorm. The Caamsai played a huge role in Legends and I would like their species introduced into Live action, and this event was viewed as worse than the destruction of Alderaan at the time.
-Live action Bothans: for the love of the Force, please show them!!!!
-Ezra's broadcast: Seeing Cassion listening to it would be pretty sweet for me.

John Knoll's pitch for Rogue One was amazing, great idea, I was looking forward to the film, on day one, Gilroy took it further... so exsqueeze me, for my passion for the Jedi. Everyone enjoys Star Wars for different reasons.

I didn't expect force powers to be used in this series, but to know that he was one, unable to use his powers, or conceal/abandon them, as Luke did on Ahch-To would be amazing, for me, to say the least, it would be brilliant storytelling, still brilliant without, nonetheless... I won't be butt hurt, if I don't get what I want... hehe.

 

I read Guardian of Whills, a junior novel by Greg Rucka, it depicts Jyn's adolesent years with Saw and after Saw, which I think is really good for a junior novel. if you are a R1 fan its a good read, so I'd like to see that as well if it falls in line with season 2.

Jedi or Super Spy?

 

One thing that’s surprised me from the beginning is Luthen having a shop, in Coruscant, right under the Emperor’s nose, with several objects related to Jedi, Sith and Force lore. I’d be more inclined to believe that Luthen could be agent who answers only and directly to Palpatine. Luthen’s aim to cause unrest and stir up rebellion (and ultimately war) serves Palpatine in legitimising the Empire tightening its grip and scaling up its brutality, and draws out its enemies. Palpatine has a history of playing both sides, and indeed it was he who was behind providing key rebel intelligence in ROTJ. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s a theory or on my wish list, but at the same time it wouldn’t surprise me. Although it would mean Palpatine controlling the narrative from behind the scenes yet again, which is awesome but could get a bit repetitive.

Out of all his dialogue in the show, I feel this is the only bit of evidence we have been given that gives a clue to who he is. Maybe some sort of Republic political scientist or an advisor who saw what was coming when the Empire was created, very logistical. Has access to technologies associated with the dark side and access to many Force-related artifacts. But still not much to go on, which of course lends to his appeal, the "mystery" of it all.

I personally love him. The slippery slope of the "greater good". Who among us, when faced with knowledge that you and the rest of the free world is about to be crushed in the iron grip of of a dictator, how would you react? How far would you go to make sure your kids are free? What lines in the sand and morals would you discard along the way? An excellent meal for thought....
