SPOILER Another possible TFA actor.

It was a facebook post by someone named Thomas (I'll leave out the last name):

"one actor in my list i love to see play the role of luke skywalker's son is Justin Chatwin from shameless and a film im not even gonna mention cause alot of people give it alot of hate."

This is not to imply that I don't take you at your word, or anything, but since this was the only other link I found between the actor and role mentioned anywhere, I was curious if maybe you had written that.

Apparently, you did not.

 

Your points are valid, but in this particular instance, GraveRobber was objecting to the fact that the Spoiler was in the thread title... yes, it was properly labeled as a SPOILER thread... but the title of the thread next to the label had the spoiler in them.

So GraveRobber had a point. (Which he communicated with all the subtlety of a sawed-off shotgun, but that's neither here nor there.)
The thread title has since been fixed... so thanks MODS!

I think the only solution here is for MODS to have to pre-approve (which may be a slow process and further bog them down) OR
create a SPOILERS ALLOWED section where anything goes... and once you click into that section, you CANNOT be offended by anything you may see.

Also, Hi GraveRobber! Hope this gets the ball rolling so as to avoid ruining the movie for you, or anyone else hoping to discuss topics spoiler-free. Group hug!

 

Oh, I know what his anger covered. It was just that this is the second thread today where people got into a tussy over this kind of thing. I agree the initial post wasn’t title correctly, but he is new. That’s all over. I just saw one thread locked and this thread starting to get heated and I guess it just seems like the spoilers have caused some anger lately…

I suppose makeup can help... I still can't buy into Luke having a kid at all though.

 

For the sake of argument, here are Justin Chatwin with his "parents," Mark Hamill and Leanne Best.
I could buy he was their son. This is either a good fan casting or the for-real deal in my opinion.


EDIT: @Willybobo a 20 year gap between Hamill and Best? Yeah makeup could do the trick.

 

Come on now… she might just get to keep the same age… its not that uncommon for a playa like Luke Skywalker to grab him a young one. hehe

your right. things have gotten heated a few times today. Ya gotta know when to stop at some point and think... is this crossing the line? its cool to have a friendly debate.. but keep it civil. i know im guilty of crossing the line sometimes, and i appropriate the friendly moderation we have with each other. I really don't like it when people use negative feedback on stupid things like off topic when someone is clearly speaking his opinion about the subject...or dislikes for the sake of revenge.

 

Luke had less game than 3P0. C'mon now.

But that was the point. Luke was meant to be this wide-eyed boyscout 'guffaw shucks' type. I'd actually be happy to know he finally became a bit savvier in the romance department. (Though this is at odds with the Jedi code. Passion is not a good thing, especially not romantic passion... leads to the dark side.. blah blah.. stay virginal and pure.)

P.S. Leann Best would make a kickass Twi'lek... she has a very alien look with the pronounced brow, dimples, and eye shape. She looks like she could eat Mark Hamill for breakfast.

P.P.S. The Chatwick guy looks like a better looking, and much more affordable version of Aaron Paul.

 

inter-species romance in star wars? that would be a good political move. sure its been done before but not like this.

As much secrecy as there is with this movie, I can't see them allowing a janitor to watch scenes being shot.

 

The poster said the custodian worked at ILM, so no they wouldn't have seen it being shot. More than likely they saw it being edited, if this is true.

 

in the united states this really isnt that big a deal, and i doubt it is in most western countries.... but Star Wars will be viewed around the world. i wounder what the reaction would be. im gonna go look for that thread.
