Mara Jade would be welcome back with open arms we know how her end comes but I doubt she would play much of a role with Luke, She is number 2 on my list of favourite female star wars characters apart from being a mother to Ben & possibly participating in a duel with Jacen I wonder what else she can do as for a woman playing her my two choices would be Angie Everhart & Kate Beckinsale.

 

Yes indeed a shot from the sacrafice novel. Although those who created it were criticised for making her younger because her timeline of death meant she would be about 57 yrs old.

 

I suppose it's possible for this to be true. I think Leanne Best looks a lot like Luke's wife, even though there's good chance Luke won't have a wife in the film, or if he does, her name probably won't be Mara Jade. I'll believe it when I see it, I guess.

To help keep things OT, yeah, I can definitely see how Mark and Leanne could, through movie magic, make a kid like Justin.

I'm all-in with the "Gleeson is a Skywalker" crowd, myself, but just based on their looks, I could see these three being family.

 

My instincts tell me this is not the case. I just can't see Luke having a family that will need explaining.

Lucas recently said JJ and co. weren't necessarily sticking 100% to his treatments. Of course, I don't know what the content of those treatments were but I can't see JJ and co. abandoning anything in favour of new elements (like a Skywalker family) that will need to to be explained. A lot could have happened in the 30 years since RotJ, but I seriously hope JJ and co. keep it simple: build on what we know for fact from the existing movies, i.e., Luke was not in a relationship and had committed to being a Jedi. Han and Leia were in a relationship; if anyone will have kids, I think it will be them. It's just cleaner and more accessible that way.

The last thing I want is a tonne of exposition about important things (like having a relationship/having kids) that happened 'off-screen'. That would just be ridiculous, imo....
