I have no idea why but my favorite parts of Lord of the Rings is that slow burn at the start of Fellowship. I love when Hobbits are talking among each other about the weird happenings around them such as talking about the odd number of dwarves on the road and the Nazgul creepily offering coin for Frodo's location. All that sends chills and is a reason I obsessively love these books. Love the adventure and mystery intertwined with that sense of peril. No other work is on Tolkien's level.

Speaking of games. I did really like the Meccg that was published by iron crown way before the movies were a thing.

    Hello.
I preffer the books over movies.
I seriously disliked the alterations to the story, even if i understand the reasons behind it.
My favorite Tolkien piece is the Hobbit, actually.

watching fellowship of the ring on Netflix, been a couple years since I last saw it, some parts are just so good. Really like the beginning in the shire and the whole race to rivendale part, some of the scenes with the black riders are just so well done. And the music, I flipping love the music.

Books, movies, audio books and early cartoon movies. LoTR was one of the first books I picked up as a child. Between it and the Xanath series by Piers Anthony if became an avid reader.

On May 21, i'm planning to go to the 'Fellowship of the Ring' screening in a movietheater in a nearby town (everymonth, Kinepolis does a Classic Movie Night, and in May, it's going to be FOTR).

Nice Beauke, it’s so awesome on the big screen, especially some of those first scenes with the black riders.

always find "two towers" better. my reason is good battle scenes, less frodo's journey and strange coincidences. in books too.

Finally bought LotR on Blu-Ray. Can't wait to sink my teeth into the ridiculous amount of BTS content that I'll get with it.

I will always be stunned by the huge background mythology from Tolkien for the early days and the high elves and morgoth and all the world building elements.
It's like an echo from a time, where some people could deeply dive into their fantasies without just having bestseller lists, rankings and money in mind.
I don't think a Tolkien from nowadays would find a publisher for a book like the silmarillion.

If LOTR were written today, it would never been published in the form we now have it (the form were we first follow one group for the half of the book, and then we follow the other group for the rest of the book).

The BTS of the LOTR movies are great. I love to watch that stuff. They go really indept into the process of making this movies.

According to TheOneRing.net, Amazon plans to invest 1 billion dollar in the LOTR series (5 seasons).

Also, according to them, Peter Jackson entered discussions with Amazon. #Excited
