    Certainly. He's not as "cute" or "cuddly" as Smith and Tennant, so that really helps in my opinion. Nice to have a change.

    I am a big fan of the new ones in particular Matt Smith but for some reason I can not get into Capaldi. Maybe he will warm up to me in time.

    Do you think it's the stories or his character? I personally feel like the stories "force" the Doctor to be darker, and more alien (Kill the Moon for instance). All in all, I feel the stories are decent, but he makes them worth watching. Thoughts?

    No its the stories mostly. Like the one where he meets Robin Hood was really quite awful imo. They are getting progressively better though so I am hopeful for the future. Jenna Coleman is still my favorite thing about the show.

    I hear ya. The stories have been all over the place this season, but I'm hoping they've settled with what works best.
    Jenna Coleman is pretty fantastic! Although I was disappointed with her character arc. I felt like she should've been better prepared to handle a new Doctor after the events of the 50th Anniversary, and she just got ruder and harsher along with the Doctor. So I didn't like either one at times, and that made it hard to watch.

    The first few episodes were pretty weak overall. Robin Hood was a low point of the season for me. I liked Listen, but it starts to pick up for good at The Carektaker and gets better and better from then out. Some very good episodes in the back half of the season.

    In other words, I had similar feelings early on, but was sold by the end.

    Been watching it since the 70s. Was always one of my favorite shows. Liked it when it returned. Davies was hit or miss but some really good episodes.

    No one was more excited for Moffat to take over then I was. Then he did.

    Can't say something nice, don't say anything at all so....

    I LOVE the newest Doctor. Let's hope we get a decent story with him before he leaves. He's my favorite in the role since Pertwee and Baker

    I'm also a recent convert, my friends had to twist my arm over and over again. Then I watched the first two episodes before Christmas and wasn't impressed (by the first one especially). But about a month ago I got back in and loved it! I just finished season two this weekend!! Now I'm rearing to start season 3!!!

    Congratulations on your recent conversion!
    I'm not a huge fan of the stories from Series 1 and 2, but they have plenty of good stuff in 'em. I think you'll be blown away for Series 5! That's a real kicker!

    Whovian here... I grew up watching the classic series on my local PBS station. I have recently embarked on watching the classic series again... I can't wait to see how Maisie Williams does and if her character ends up being someone special in the Doctor's life.

    Doctor Who is my top TV fandom. Favorite Classic Doctor is Colin Baker; favorite "nuWho" Doctor is Peter Capaldi. All-time favorite? Well, Capaldi has managed to snatch that title away from Colin Baker.

    I know Capaldi's Doctor grates on some people, but I love him because he reminds me of me. I am autistic, and I see SO many autistic characteristics in Twelve; I and many others headcanon him as being autistic. So, I'm very much in love with Twelve because I see myself reflected in him.

    Also, IMHO, the Capaldi Era (series 8 and what we have thus far of series 9) is absolutely the best era of all of nuWho. I can't make a claim like that in comparison to Classic Who, since I've not seen it all, but I've seen all of nuWho, and man, Capaldi is just.... all of his episodes are the BEST.

    How about that speech in "The Zygon Inversion," eh?

    Yessss ME! If there's one fandom I love more than the Star Wars fandom it's the Doctor Who fandom! (And Supernatural:D)
    From what i've seen, Series 9 looks like it's going to be awesome!
    Also who is your favorite Nuwho Doctor? Mine is David Tennant's Tenth Doctor! I just love the way he acts, and in my opinion he had amazing companions! (Sarah Jane Smith is still the best companion though :))

    I'm a little behind on this season. Still need to watch the Zygon 2 parter, but is anyone else with me that were are seeing the most consistent Who in quite a while? Last time I remember the show being this good on a week to week basis is season 5. The opening two-parter with Missy was solid but maybe not exceptional, but the two after that were top notch Who.

    I almost didn't realize how much my excitement for new episodes had been waning until this season started capturing that feeling again I had back in season 5. Now (despite my recent delay in catching up) I can't wait to see the next episode week to week.

    A+ episode though. Shock and awe. this has been a great season. Wonder where they go from here.
