Although I have a decent collection of SW vehicles, this is one piece I don't have.

This is one of those SW toys I had as a kid and loved, but ended up losing to the
yard sale purge that so often will happen when you go off to college and leave no
instructions as to what your parents should sell, and what they should pack away
and keep. Another casualty was my Droid Factory playset.

Neither toy was in any of the movies, but they were both "Star Warsy Enough" to
fit right in with my Falcon, X-Wing, and Death Star playset. And, the troop transport
talked! That was something new back then.

If the troop transporter finally shows up onscreen in TFA, I'll be one happy camper!

I actually ended up opening mine and discovered that it worked with a tiny two inch wide record LP inside. It was a white vinyl disc with the voices recorded on it, and it played like an old time record.

Yes! I remember after pressing the various red buttons it sounding like a scratchy 45 or 33 1/3.

I didn't know that there was an actual record in there. Cool stuff.

Yeah, I recognised it from my childhood friend's SW toy collection. There were loads of vehicle toys that were released that I remember, as a kid, looking at and saying, "where the hell was that in the trilogy? I definitely don't remember that!" Like these:

I wonder if they were just a way to make use of discarded McQuarrie sketches and rake in a bit more cash. It was such a weird experience to open up a christmas present from an aunt or uncle and find the Endor Ranger tank (middle picture) at the age of 8 or something, and not know exactly what the hell it was....

They had the Droid Factory show up in a Clone wars episode as well. :)

they won't show up in the movies. Its just Dave Filoni and crew paying a little homage because they grew up with all these things in the 70s with us that are old enough to remember it
