Best 5 Actors/Actresses in Star Wars Movies

Judging by their overall careers and not necessarily Star Wars (in the spirit of original post):

- James Earl Jones
- Alec Guinness
- Ewan McGreggor
- Harrison Ford
- Peter Cushing

But I think a more interesting and difficult question would be "Best acting in Star Wars". This is TOUGH! My top 5 would be:

- James Earl Jones - He drives all the tension of the OT.
- Harrison Ford - Star Wars is half of what it is without Han Solo's heart.
- Daisy Ridley - She knocked it out of the park for me. Time will tell whether I'm crazy or not.
- Adam Driver - I honestly think his performance in TFA was some of the best work in all of Star Wars.
- Ian McDiarmid - One of the most iconic performances in Star Wars, he nailed it in 2 different trilogies as essentially 2 different characters.

 

Ridley? Really? Julian Glover (Veers) was on screen like 3 minutes & he's even better.

 

To each their own. I thought she did a great job! Veers was pretty great too though...

 

Veers was exceptional!

 

But his screentime was less than a minute. A minute! I'm not sure if a glorified cameo can be even compared to a leading role.

 

Trust me. People will be saying things Veers sed in dat 1 minute then Ridley's entire career! DR is a model clearly 1st & an amateurish actress a distant second.

The actor with the most successful movies in the end, goes out to Warwick Davis who had more blockbusters than anyone, even if he or the role was small. Love that Max Von Sydow got mentioned. Shout out to SLJ, Harriet Walter, Ben Mendolshon, and Christopher Lee.

But there are so, so many to choose from, a top 10 or even a top 20 would be much more fair IMO.

 

For me, here goes:

1) Christopher Lee - the guy just exemplifies screen presence and plays Dooku in a way that is just so noble yet so devious!
2) Ian McDiarmid - the way he just effortlessly flips from calm and caring Palps to sinister and scheming Sidious is outstanding.
3) Adam Driver - the way he displays the conflict within him is superb.
4) Peter Cushing - his menacing performance is so good he still gives me the creeps to this day!
5) Alec Guinness - just a rock solid actor, 'nuff said.
