    I personally just like how SW has been creative enough to tell the story without physically showing you a past event. It leaves an opening for further storytelling in the future and I would like it to stay that way for the ST.

    I've never been a big fan of flashbacks in general, but after watching Lost I can now deal with any flashback that doesn't take up half the running time.

    As far as JJ-isms go I think they will be at a minimum. He has mentioned countless times how he, the cast and crew were so careful in making it as Star Wars as it can be. So even though he can do flashbacks in a cool way in his other productions I don't think we will see any in TFA. That goes for lens flare too. Star Trek was a reboot so he had more control over how to shape the look and feel.

    I'm against flashbacks in a STARWARS movie especially were iconic characters are involved BUT ........ I will give JJ the benefit of the doubt as he did serve up probaly the greatest flashback sequence ( IMO ) in movie history involving an iconic character ?

    I don't think you will have traditional flashbacks. Though I could easily see holographic footage being viewed in the present it shows the past without flashing back. Also Anakin's reoccurring dream of Padme (not a flash back) gave a glimpse of an event Anakin could otherwise not see. I moment of meditation or force dream might easily pass as not breaking the spirit of SW.

    I dislike the flashback idea, but If a flashback scene occurs then it would be nice to see the missing part of the interrogate/torture scene from cell block AA-23 between Vader and Leia from Ep.IV :D

    Edit: I looked at the picture of Hamill's daughter for a moment, it's eerie, she has the chin and mouth of her father, I can see Luke Skywalker in her, this was a really odd happening for me.
    Never looked at pictures from his children till now, but I read that one of his sons looks very similar to him.
    I think it was his older son Nathan Hamill or not?

    Back to the topic, I think that Carries daughter will play a small backround role, maybe without lines.

    That is not flashback scene.

    And it is not very good scene at all. At least to me as star trek fan. 50 years of canon destroyed.

    As for Billie Lourd, she is probably young Leia. At least acording to majority of rumors.

    JJ loves his flash backs... Remember LOST. The show was one big flash back, flash forward, flash sideways. He even stuck in a flash "afterlife." So at least he has practice and is good at using them to build character content and just report on what happened.

    Hate to be nit-picky but technically that's not a Flashback because that's where the story begins. Then we see both Kirk and Spock as children. That is just the beginning of the story.

    I think she will have some minor role.Possibly the solo daughter we are all speculating Rey to be.Her daughter reminds me of the girl in that concept pic...being embraced by the uhm...Cyborg dude.I do not think that is Rey being embraced there...but this daughter.

    I think there will be a flashback in the form of a Force vision. But this will also set up Billy Lourde to be Young Leia in spin- off films. It just makes lots of sense.
