So maybe ghost Anakin told Luke Plagueis knew how to save his friends and loved ones from death? Now Luke is searching galaxy to find out how to bring back all those Kylo killed?

It's the same Force Power Anakin was after so it's not so far fetched to be impossible.

Wasn't Snoke worried about Luke bringing back the Jedi?

Plagueis is dead. I don't see him coming up at all (even being mentioned or referred to) in the ST and I don't see Luke doing this.

the whole bringing people back from the dead feels like a decidedly dark side sort of power. i doubt someone like Luke, or Yoda or any other true Jedi, would dabble in something like that.

I think what you hit on here is the notion that the quest for immortality should remain an integral part of the story. Not for the Jedi of course, but for the bad guys. Palpatine would've of course desired it and any Dark Side wielder worth his salt would desire it just the same. It would be odd for all the Plagueis stuff (not the character bit his supposed discoveries) to be cast aside.

Anakin fell for that once and he's not gonna come back to deceive Luke with the same lies Palps told him.

Luke won't be looking for unnatural means to resurrect his fallen order, he accepted what lives eventually dies.

I really hope not. I wouldn't want to see SW go through the superhero trend of killing characters just to have them come back a few issues later.

Luke's gone through a lot, though. Not saying he's a sith, I'd seriously doubt that. But I could see him using more of the Dark Side than normal.

Saying he is searching for it does not mean he will ever find it or that it will become that "superhero trend" you speak of.

I actually find the concept of Luke searching for the same thing that his father went to the dark side for a very intriguing idea. It would show a a similar trait shared by both of them - the inability to completely accept the death of someone close to them. Especially when they felt it was their duty to keep the deceased safe. It would also show that, no matter how far down opposing paths they both went, there is still common ground and something very human about the desire to use the force to bring back the dead.

Showing Luke studying and practicing a more "grey" area of the force - not bound by the rigid rules of the old Jedi Council - is something I very much hope to see in this trilogy. Making sure to show that the overwhelming confidence the Jedi Order of the PT had was as much to blame for their downfall as the Sith. After all, balance is what Anakin was supposed to bring - not complete control by the Jedi OR the Sith.

Many Sith were previously Jedi. Many Jedi have gone to the dark side. Luke broke Yoda's (Jedi) rules because he went to save those he loved. He could break the rules again. Where do people get this idea of Angelic and perfect Jedi Luke Skywalker?

How is using the force to deflect a laser back to an attacker any different than using force lightening on an attacker? How is cutting Darth Maul in half with a light saber any different than using force Choke to kill him or cutting Anakin's legs off and leaving him to burn in lava?

Anakin prevented Windu from killing a defenseless Palpatine yet OB1 left Anakin to die in lava. There was nothing defensive or "Light Jedi" about that decision. What is light and dark again?

I understand what you mean but it's still very different my friend. Anakin wanted to find away to keep his loved one from dying not bringing her back from the dead like the ''superhero trend'' I mentioned. Do you have any idea how worthless the sacrifices of our heros would be if this were the case? Oh we want a Yoda or Ben Kenobi movie so what do we do? Let's bring them back from the dead! That would really suck. Can you imagine them bringing back Vader? All his conflict at the end of ROTJ and his huge sacrifice would mean nothing. This is one of the many reasons why I never liked Dark Empire and the whole Emperor clone thing. Then Disney could off characters whenever they choose because they would always have the ''bring them back from the dead'' excuse. I was really bummed by the way they killed Han in TFA but if they already did this then I hope they stick with it and don't bring him back just for the fun of it.

This is one theory I don't really like. I don't think this is something they would come up with but that's just me.

With the Jedi, I don't think Luke would be doing something like that. He is a grey jedi I get it. But he definitely isn't doing that. If he was doing that, as a TFO fan I'd be pretty happy. He'd be able to go down the same road Anakin did.

Other than Anakin wanting to save those he loves (not a quest for immortality) there is no such quest in the main thread of the saga. Palatine's joyous success was "Unlimited Power." Plagueis might have pursued it in a tangent story. But it has never entered the story as integral.

i agree, the quest for immortality may even have been a tall tale that Palps used to seduce Anakin. he may have known that it was impossible but since it got such a strong reaction out of Anakin he milked it.

if they leave out everything to do with dark siders trying to be immortal i'd be 100% ok with that.
