Could Rey be a clone of Luke ?

Clone only in the sense she has 50% of his DNA or however you explain it

 

COULD she be? Yes because it's possible in the Star Wars universe. Will she be? Not a chance.

IF she is, he probably had her out of necessity and not knowledge .

 

Disney is avoiding the PT like the Plague there will be no Midichlorians and no Clones.

We actually currently have the technology to create female clones from men.
You simply grab an extra X chromosome and remove the Y.

Females could even have male clones made with barely any genetic difference. They would simply have to have a donor Y chromosome. Given that the Y chromosome barely contains any genetic information. This would almost be a perfect clone.

The easiest way to determine this is not a clone of Luke is the eye color. We can say for sure that without heavy modifications it is impossible for this to be a clone of Luke. Clone of Luke is extremely unlikely.

I think it may be a clone of Anakin. In the EU The Emperor actually had clones of Darth Vader created without his knowledge.

Was looking to see if anyone had mentioned Rey being a clone before. Found this thread, saw your quote was the day of
the films release - they mentioned "clone armies" in TFA, so not avoiding it completely.

If Rey isn't attached to someone as everyone appears to want her to be, then why not a cone of someone we don't know? That would explain her lack of memory, lack of identity and kill off the whole "mind wipe" thing.

Why should Rey be a clone of anybody? Whats the point? It would only further complicate the narrative. And for the sake of what? A twist?

Nope. They didn't put Luke in the movie because they wanted to introduce new heroes which is the sign that the future of SW will be without the Skywalker. Having Kylo Ren as the bad guy is a great idea for they just have to kill him in ep IX to close the loop.

At first I thought the Rey-is-a-clone-of-Luke theory was a little too crazy, but I think it might have some merit...

Why an opposite-sex clone (which is possible, though the word "clone" might be a stretch)? Well, if you’re quietly building a Skywalker clone, you probably don’t want it looking exactly like the galaxy’s most notorious Force-user.

Why build a clone at all? It could have something to do with one of the first lines in TFA. Lor and his band of Force-worshippers believe that balance can only be achieved with the existence of the Jedi. Once Ben went all Kylo, destroying the next-gen Jedi and sending Master Luke into exile, Lor’s pals could've cooked up a little balancing act in Rey, then stuck her on a Tatooine-like planet to replicate Luke’s childhood, hoping for similar results, with old-man Lor overseeing the experiment.

Where’d they get the DNA? We know that Luke’s lightsaber was recovered from the depths of Cloud City. Which means that Luke’s hand was also likely recovered.

Is there any evidence of this crazy theory? Not really. But TFA constantly reminds us of Luke’s missing limb. And with Kylo’s clunky reference to a clone army, TFA also reminds us that clone technology exists in that galaxy far, far away.

For me, this theory makes some sense. We’d get a new Skywalker without Luke or Leia looking like jerks for dumping their daughter on some backwater planet. We also wouldn’t need to learn about a potential love interest for Luke. The Skywalker siblings would be just as surprised by Rey’s origins as she would be.

 

If she's a clone, she's a clone of Leia. Clone of boys give boys.

 

I'm open minded to a lot when it comes to the new direction of SW but the idea of Rey being a clone of anybody is one that I'm not. I don't like the idea.

 

i don't think Rey is a clone of Luke. Who would have done this and why? But we did have an emperor obsessed with power and knowing the force who set uo research bases all along the frontier, like the one on Jakku. Basically I think there they "sexually" combined the emperor's and Darth Vader's DNA.
During the Battle of Jakku (which the Empire defended with everything they had), the researchers escaped with an ice chest full of embryos to someplace they could not be found. There they spent 14 years or so until they successfully brought one to term - baby Rey.

 

I think that no.She is not a clone in a my opinion BUT everything is possible.This new trilogy is just starting.We must keep watching.
